Great art direction and writing, the activities and mission design can get a bit repetitive though.
Looking forward to the sequel!

I was really looking forward to Assassin's Creed returning to the Islamic world since I enjoyed AC Revelations very much.
Unfortunately this is probably the AC I enjoyed the least.

Pro:
-the codex is quite nice with pictures of museum artifacts and interesting information snippets (though not a lot of entries)
-no level grinding/bloat like in Odyssey and Valhalla

Cons:
-the Ubisoft launcher caused a lot of issues for me, claiming it couldn't authenticate the ownership of my game multiple times

-this rendition of Baghdad just isn't very interesting, there are no memorable landmarks and the city districts look mostly the same. It's also weirdly silent sometimes, the soundtrack doesn't play and the crowds don't make much noise

-the plot is very disappointing too. There are only a handful of targets to assassinate this time, so they could've given these characters some space to shine. But its just mostly just you being told what terrible people they are and then you go kill them.
Basim also isn't explored much. I enjoyed his character quite a bit in Valhalla and was hoping to see him build a relationship with Hytham or maybe meet Sigurd, but none of that happens here. He just does his contracts and has some bad dreams, that's basically it. Big letdown. The supporting cast is utterly uninteresting too, they just exist to hand you your missions.

-combat is hot garbage. You are also forced into a combat encounter multiple times during the game.

-stealth is more enjoyable, but when guards are pursuing you the crowd always panics and disperses, so you can't do any of that cool hiding in the crowd or on some bench stuff. It got very frustrating and I was relieved when the game finally ended.

Overall I regret spending 20€ on this and do not recommend it. I'd replay AC Revelations over this and that game is from 2011.

They mostly just make u grind the usual open world activities and the "story" is barely there

Decent level gated main story that constantly forces you to do super boring side quests to grind xp for hours on end. Clearly designed this way so you buy the xp booster in the microtransaction shop.

The world is huge and very impressive, but since the devs had to reuse the same art assets to fill it, most locations outside Athens and Sparta are very forgettable.

Very immersive shooter that reacts to your approach with consequences and rewards exploration.
Only two things that bothered me was Artyom still being a mute protagonist and a pretty boring final act of the game that outstays it's welcome.
