Playable Timeloop Apathy. Its one of my favorite experiences in fiction that is rarely explored properly. If you are a fan of works like Steins;Gate and Re:Zero this is a playable RPG experience of those core themes of Timeloop horror. As a player you get to experience exciting multi-loop puzzles and side quests, surprisingly reactive narrative dialog accounting for what you've done or avoided, and a growing sense of Apathy and Boredom that enhances the later half of the games sense of helplessness and lethargy. Its not an experience I recommend to everyone. It's tedious after a few hours (the core experience is going up the same 4 levels of dungeon multiple times). If you are unsure if the core experience is right for you I recommend you buy and play the shorter Prologue. It takes place during a hypothetical 3rd route mid way through Siffrin's Journey where they have effectively given up on wining. Its Stars and Time at its best in a much more straight forward package. If you play the prologue and enjoy it you will like In Stars And Time.

Initial impressions: The trailer art style is semi deceiving. Initial impressions set my expectations to something close to Tokyo Mirage Session however the lighting and shading work lends it somewhere closer to a noir comic book like style. If you enjoyed PS2 Megaten games (like I do) the game navigates kinda similar, in a close up 3rd person view. The controls are a bit difficult and throw you off but they aren't intolerable. The combat system is highly controversial, and I can't say for late game, but initial impressions are interesting to say the least.
People are disappointed that Press Turn isn't the system that Atlus went with, and while I also enjoy press turn this was to be expected even before the games release. Devil Summoner games (which this game should fall under) tends to be Atlus's test bed for different combat systems. Devil Summoner 1 and Soul Hacker has its loyalty system, Raidou Kuzunoha has its real-time battle system, and Soul Hacker 2 has the Sabbath system. Its sort of like 5's essence system and 3's magatama system. The player character gains the affinity of the demons they have selected and use demon skills during their turn. The player doesn't summon the demon to the field, rather they use the demons skill directly, and if the skill is especially effective against a foe the demon will stick around till the end of the round. At the end of a combat round the demons engage in a Sabbath and inflict extra damage against the enemy party. The side effect of this system is characters can only summon 1 demon each, a maximum of 4 per party. Its a far cry from the 4+ party characters and I can see it leading to less complex party set ups compared to Soul Hacker 1, but once again this isn't the first time Devil Summoner has limited the active demons in a player party. It's not the worst combat system but I can see why many don't like it compared to the other games. I enjoy it (as of writing this) but it's worth knowing this is the main gameplay for this game. The combat animations are exceptional, all characters have a stylish aura and demeanor (yes even the guy in the hoody, he looks cooler in person than in the trailer).
People often ask why Soul Hacker 2, rather than Devil Summoner: Aion or whatever. Besides Soul Hacking being a main story mechanic it probably has to do with its themes being directly connected to Soul Hacker's. Where Soul Hacker's main themes and setting was all about the exponential growth of technological capability and how the explosion of tech in the 90s was rapidly changing the living standards of all people, Soul Hackers 2 directly follows it up with modern days continued technological growth and yet somehow the stagnation of human living standards. Even if tech is still getting better as the years have gone on we as people haven't been greatly changed. Not in any utopian way that the 90s had envisioned it atleast. Only time will tell if this theme is fully realized but I can at least understand the Soul Hacker 2 monicure.

TLDR/Conclusion;
I'm not saying this is the best game or even one of the best. Its probably not going to break new ground in the SMT fandom in terms of story or gameplay, as many have pointed out in there own Reviews. However I see very little reason as of now to not recommend it to people who enjoy SMT and Atlus games in general. If you set your expectations to that of a decent, if simpler take on Devil Summoner I doubt you will be disappointed. I see very little reason to by the game full priced and with DLC. I only did it because I like to support Atlus's game developers. I honestly have never played a bad Atlus game. Many tedious and some that were kinda boring, but never bad. Play on Hard if you are familiar with Atlus games (its closer to other Atlus games Normal, and remember there is a Very Hard that should be closer to the expected Hard mode).

Resident Evil 8 is the Resident Evil 4 of Resident Evil 3 in terms of being a sequel to Resident Evil 7. The gun play is more action focused, Ethen is not only given way more ammo than in 7 but also a greater range of movement and gun options.

Story wise this is several years after 7, quite literally the 3 years and 8ish months after 7's initial release, and it shows in Ethan Winter's overall demeanor and competency. That's not to say Ethan is given the Leon treatment from 2 to 4. Ethan is still very much a "normal" guy. He basically took some basic military training (more like self defense) but he isn't a government agent.

Gameplay wise while I stand by that this is a more action oriented take on the atmosphere and gameplay of 7 it is not less terrifying or intense. In fact because the enemy variety and enemy population is greater than in 7 you are faced with a lot more head to head situations than Ethan and you would like. The game expects you to take a lot of damage and use up a lot more ammo. The enemies aren't slow mold this time either. Like in 4 the enemies are extremely hostile, fast, and mobile, and hit like a truck. It takes a lot of time to learn the enemies and how to deal with them.

All in all if you enjoyed 7 you will enjoy 8.

SO I bought the base game less than an hour ago. In that time I fell in love with the art style, the game taught me what offset really is and gave me a tool to help me set it which I've never been able to do before, and I full cleared several low level hard levels and I still want to replay them to improve my accuracy and level up. This game has scratched an itch I've been looking for in rhythm games. Its a very casual friendly game, and that doesn't mean that its easy. Rather it's very simple and easy to learn even for rhythm game beginners. It also doesn't require a long time of practice to feel like your doing well. Its a game with a low beginner skill level and a high skill ceiling. Its extremely inviting. I was a bit worried when people started saying the Just as planned dlc was essential. Its not that the base game is bad, I love this game already. It's not even that the base game lacks songs and unlockables. No everyone wants more of it. I know soon I will be forced to by the dlc because I will assuredly want more of this too.

Yo can we all acknowledged that this is now being included with all other Half Life game deals, it practically is being acknowledged as a real part of the half life series. If that's not a ringing endorsement I don't know what is.

It should be noted that the game isn't perfect. The audio is compressed, it's capped at 30fps, and it is expensive comparatively to things like Persona 4 Golden. However this is still the best way to play SMT Nocturne. The 30 fps sounds unforgivable however it really doesn't make any real noticeable difference to the experience you as a player feel. That is because while it is capped at 30 it is consistently at 30, no matter what. I have never have had the game hitch or drop for even a second. The voice acting is extremely impressive and catapult this game from a slightly dated ps2 game to a very fun and accessible and timeless experience, on par with P4 G and P3. I feel as well that I should mention that the game has been released for only a few days and independent modders have solved many issues others have raised. Hex editing can increase internal resolution if the 1080p internal cap truely bugs you, its only a matter of time before someone uncaps the frame rate, and someone had already released uncompressed audio for the game. Mods of course don't make the base game better but it does give you options that aren't available for emulation. Speaking of, while the price is expensive, if we were to take the price of SMTIII on amazon or Ebay you will see that even now it is $25-$30. This isn't even the non-localized Chronicles Edition which can go for upwards of $70. The price on steam is pretty harsh but even so this is the cheapest legal option to play this game. This is ofcourse without calculating how much you gain over the original. The VA, the increase in resolution, some quality of life improvements, and ofcourse not having to fiddle with PSX2 to get it to run stably. I think that last part is the best thing I can say about this game. This game is polished. I have yet to experience a game breaking crash or bug. I could feasibly run this game over night for a year and I would expect it to run through that whole period without crashing.

TLDR:
This is the best version of SMTIII currently available

Honestly even as someone who recommends this game I can not just wave away all the valid complaints of other fans. Its true that its way too short, its missing areas from the beginning, and its over priced for what is a campaign with a tacked on multiplayer. That being said this isn't a bad game by a long shot, and it's not even what I'd call lazy. The voice, level design, animation, and story is still given the same amount of care as Resident Evil 2 Remake. With the areas that were cut or changed the story never really suffers from pacing problems. You have to remember that RE3 original was substantially short as well comparatively to RE2. This game was always going to be short. I personally agree that this probably would have been better as a DLC to RE2 but I feel they added enough new enviroments and mechanics that maybe the choice of making it a seperate game was called for. There are some things that this game even has over the original in terms of retelling the story to fit with the current game's stories and contexts. The redone RPD section, hospital, and its climax all are really solid, and help stream line the original Raccoon City games into a more cohesive story. The game is definately more linear than RE2 as well. No real backtracking (but this was pretty much the same for RE3 to be fair) making the experience be one unbroken campaign. What this leaves is a pretty fun adventure from beginning to end that can be beaten in a day. My recommendation is buy it on sale, probably around $30 is fair, though I bought it at full price and don't feel too much regret. I should mention Resistance as one of the few people to have seemed to have played it in this review section. It's okay. Its not bad, apparently when the game launched there was a cheating problem but the game has seen a substantial drop in active players in general so I have never personally seen cheaters. The matches revolve around a player as a mastermind trying to kill the other players before they can beat several stages of trials. The other players are survivors that need to beat every stages goal while trying to stay alive. The matches are short and they can be fun if the other players are actively talking and helping each other. It feels like a shorter, match based, version of Outbreak Files 2. Its not something I'd buy on its own but its not really hurting the game with it's inclusion.

Personally I feel a lot of the negative reviews topping this game are coming from inexperience when it comes to playing. The game feels really good. Gameplay wise every character I have played doesn't feel too powerful or underpowered. Every character has a set role in a game. I would keep dying until I figured out Terra, my main, was a Marksman character. Terra's attacks for instance are geared for long range. I had been playing her like an assassin. Knowing roles is important and I feel a lot of people are going into Dissidia with confrontational attitude. The controls are definitely designed for a controller but I don't feel that as a negative as this was kinda expected, it being a fighting game and a console port. Just get a controller and plug it in it really isn't that hard. I have been playing free to play and as such have no experience with the story, I also lack many of the characters and as such can't talk about the balancing when it comes to every character, but with the characters given and what I have experienced fighting the other characters I haven't seen any obvious balancing issue. It is important for a newcomer to know about how the Bravery system works. That being said I don't feel like I can adequately explain it here and youtube probably has better explanation so just look it up if your thinking about playing. The biggest issue that is fair is that some games online have bad lag, though I do have to note that this isn't every game as many reviews here would have you believe. I believe its about a 1/10 chance you will get a bad connection and this is mostly when your in lower ranking queues. I truely think this is more of an issue with players connection with the server than the servers fault. The other big thing is long queues. Now I'm not saying online is dead. It does take a good bit for a party to be matched. My personal opinion is for you to try the game. Take what I have said and play through the bronze rank and then decide whether this game is bad.

TL:DR
Play with a controller
Keep in mind your characters role; Vanguard, Marksman, etc
Look up/play the tutorial to understand Bravery
Keep in mind that a few of your matches will have lag
Play through the bronze rank before casting judgement (I feel a lot of these reviews were born out of inexperience/ bandwagon)
Decide for yourself. This isn't the best game in the world I will admit there are minor issues but it seriously doesn't deserve a Mostly Negative review score.

Treat the F2P as a demo and decide whether it's worth buying. Also please if you enjoyed the game place a review saying so. If this game gets hit like this we may loose a player base.

Honestly I would never claim the story is unfinished, just concluded. The original story recieved cuts due to fan reaction to ff13 as a whole. When it was released it still had a conclusive story that details the rise of a prince into a king, and coming to understand the responsibilities that come with it. Three Story DLC were released to better explain the background of three characters and better build upon their loyalty and friendship with the main character. A newer season of DLC was planned with one close to being finished. The higher ups pulled the plug due to the declining fan response to Final Fantasy XV as a product, with reception of the game declining steadily releasing with great reviews but slowly being buried with what ifs that justify bashing the current game. As such the best financial decision is to stop production and cut your losses. Being notified of the decision and having planned to leave in order to work on personal projects Director Tabata leaves Square having expressed no official animosity. I don't agree with this kind of reviewing. Using cut content and suppositions as means to judge a game. A game has its merits and its faults and should be judged on those alone.

General Plot:
The game, as I have said, follows Noctis and his friends as they fights against the oppressive military country of Niflheim. During this he struggles with the responsibilities that is becoming King and looks to his friends for guidance. During his fight he looks for his missing bride to be: Lunafreya.

*It's a simple plot that harkens back to old school Final Fantasy plots, complete with evil empires, crystals, and big bads. I don't personally consider this a fault, but I acknowledge some might. The Empire is unapologetically one dimensional. The real draw though is in individual characters. All main characters have a great sense of personality. Ignis is Noctis's advisor and cook, but as a friend he has know him since they were kids. He is his nanny changed with taking care of him when his own father couldn't. Gladiolus is Noctis's shield. He has been sworn by blood, like his father, to protect the king with his life. He served like that for many years and prides himself as Noctis's mentor. Though it is his job as the years have went by Gladiolus has grown closer to Noctis closing the gap that is protector and student. He reminds Noctis of his duty and forces Noctis to take the hard truths, but even then he still cares for him. Prompto is Noctis's connection to the people he rules. Prompto has no special role in Noctis's court, he isn't noble, he is just his friend(and that makes him invaluable to Noctis). Luna is Noctis's bride to be. They have know each other since they were kids but were separated due to the war. She is the Oracle, the speaker for FFXV's gods. She serves as a parrallel to Noctis. She has already given herself to her role. Even as a child she knew what her calling was. Noctis can't say the same. He was a normal child and grew up understanding his role but never embracing it. The cast is beautifully voice acted in both Japanese and English. This doesn't even go into the villian.

The game looks beautiful but I warn you, its taxing. You really do need a GTX1080 at least to run this game at full resolution. FFXV runs on the custom built Luminious Engine. That being said the Engine has what I hear to be a memory leak problem and needs a mod called Special K to solve some fps problems. That doesn't mean its poorly optimized, it runs great on it's own, but can be improved.

The game focus's on real time action and it feels tight. I recommend playing with a controller as to make it more streamlined. The game has a complex dodging and combo system. You can hot key 4 different weapons, some with affinities to certain enemies, and use them accordingly. As Noctis you can warp around the battlefield and use all weapons. During certain exchanges Noctis and another character will join in a Link Strike. Its hard to explain but it is suprisingly easy to learn.

The game is open world and has tons of quests. Some mondane as going to a place and fetching stuff. The real draw is Hunter Quests. These Quests challenge you to fight some monster. If you enjoyed super bosses or just power leveling these keep your attention. There are several mini games as well scattered throughout the world if your willing to explore. In the newer updates there was some expanded content regarding the final dungeon and a super boss for those wanting more.

On top of it all the game comes with all the existing DLC with one more still coming. These DLC are stories that only really make sense after playing through the main story. These stories really help convey the backgrounds of our main protagonists as well as their motives.

Before playing you should really watch Kingsglaive and Brotherhood. I know all story should be contained in games but much like FF7 a lot of background is expanded on in alternative media. Kingsglaive is what the small cutscene after arriving at Galdin Quay while brotherhood is all about how the party met and grew up with eachother.

In the end there is a lot to love about this game. It's not FFXIII Verses and we should not expect it to be, its is own game and its clear thats all it needs to be. I think that just because DLC is canceled (a reasonable financial decision due to fan backlash on continued development) and the Director quit seemingly by his own will that doesn't diminish the quality of the base game. Hell I don't understand why people seem to think the final product doesn't show its long development. They founded a new studio and made a new engine and the game looks beautiful because of it. I feel no regret in playing FFXV and thus recommend it to all who want a classic prince goes on a journey story with a more modern twist.

I can't say anything that others haven't said but this a great game for any Alien fan. It retains the retro futuristic style that we have all come to love and sadly miss from the Alien frachise.
For those who are accustomed to horror games like Outlast will draw some parallels to its overall feel and controls. A lot of the scares comes from what you see as well as what you don't. You get freaked out when you hear an enemy has spoted you and you jump at the small sounds indicating an enemy is near by.
There are some deviations as well. In Alien Isolation there are very few jump scares which keeps the game fresh for multiple playthroughs (I played through multiple times to 100% complete the game and still left shaken bye the end of it).
The AI is extreamly smart and every death feels deserved, discounting a few as youtube has made well aware. The dialog and characters further the immersion which subsiquently heightents the fear factor. The only glaring downside I can recall from my hours of play was a bug which made it impossible to progress (only fixed after two reloads) and the lipsync (which essentially boils down to moving the mouth up and down when the character talks).
For those who want a good "Aliens" (enthesis on Aliens) game this isn't it. Like the original movie it's largely about the atmosphere and the the sound design and the creature. A lot of the fun is the small jumps you get when fire spirts from a valve as you pass by, or the panic when you hear the alien fall from a vent in close proximity to you. It you are more into the run and gun style of play go play some of the classic and even the more recent Alien Vs Predator games, don't get Aliens: Colonial Marines (speaking as someone who bought it for a ludicrous price of 50$-60$).
The question really isn't should I buy but rather when do I buy. NOW would be a great answer. Just be sure to get the DLC as you gewt to play as Ripley on the Nostromo (if your a true fan that should already make you nerdgasm). If I haden't gotten this on Humble Bundle I would have bought it anyways. Just some tips for those of you who do bye, look in the community guides for the ultimate graphics tweaking guide and save often.
