Unbelievably good. The soundtrack is amazing, the indie folk and alt rock really melds well with the atmosphere of the game. You won't regret playing it all the way through, I personally guarantee it.

Fantastic DLC for an outstanding game, 10/10 would play a 7th time.

Kudos CDPR!

Here's the thing, there was a lot of hype about this game, and a lot of it was deserved, but I simply cannot give it a recommended review because of some major issues I have with Bethesda's decisions in creating this game.
Here are two:

First and most important: The game engine. Bethesda spent exactly 4 years developing this game as their primary focus assuming absolutely no work had been done on it before skyrim was released. They've been using the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥, bug-prone engine since morrowind and they absolutely refused to even optimize it! Let alone add modern graphics to it. Polygon counts are barely higher in any way then Skyrim, and textures are only marginally better. Then they don't even add modern graphic systems like shaded and mobile fur and decent mocap. There are like 10 different mocap animations and that's unacceptable today.

Second: writing. While the writing wasn't strictly bad, it was nothing special. Bethesda has failed at this for years and people have constantly been hoping for improvement, but once again they let us down.

I had hoped Bethesda could learn from their mistakes, but apparently they cannot, and so I am ultimately disappointed.

This game is amazing. Like every game it has flaws, it's not perfect, but I love it. Immediately after playing it I bought translations of the books (and acquired some fan translations of the ones that haven't been translated yet...), bought the previous games, and enveloped myself in the entire story. I'm near the end of my third playthrough now on Death March difficulty, and I have to say that the higher difficulties are the way the game was meant to be played. You really get to see crafting epic gear and brewing bombs, potions, and decoctions in a new light as you absolutely have to do it to overcome the harder fights. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys a role-playing experience.
