I recommend this game, it's a great time-sink and is well worth the money. Having no P2W and an almost abundant premium currency that you can earn simply through playing, you can unlock every cosmetic and weapon over time. The feeling of dropping on a random planet in the galaxy (be it frozen dunes, moon-like terrain, a oddly coloured jungle or a scorching hot desert) seldom gets old, and the game offers you dozens upon dozens of ways to annihilate the ♥♥♥♥ out of your enemies, bugs and bots alike. Good variety. Optimization is not bad either.

PROS:
- variety in character loadouts, cosmetics
- variety in playable mission areas, enemies, mission objectives
- game looks beautiful even on medium settings
- good optimization, for what it is
- really solid gunplay and movement
- the occasional over-the-top voicelines
- everything is earnable through just playing in a reasonable amount of time, zero P2W
- gameplay loop is entertaining, and easily guarantees tens and tens of hours of fun, if not hundreds.

CONS:
- server netcode is not always the best, resulting in being disconnected mid-session with no option to reconnect.
- weapon/stratagem balance can be a little odd
- occasional graphical glitches caused by enemy corpses

Ah, Dungeonmans, what a silly, quite humble, yet such vast of a game with tons to offer.

First time i found out about it was when a certain youtuber began making letsplay videos on it, and it quickly caught my eye. The extreme replayability, various build options and the over-the-top humor that really fits the dungeon game setting are all qualities that just work so well together. As a gen Z user, i am not particularly used to the old dungeoncrawler controls, and such it took some time, but much like with many other games, this soon becomes natural. The graphics are immediately something you notice, very retro, yet so oddly relaxing to admire, and definitely iconic for this game. All the NPC and enemy sprites are well-crafted, as are the environments. Did i mention the map is different each time you play?

You may be asking how unforgiving this game is when it comes to dying, as it is a roguelite after all.

Not much! Not too much to make each death something you just wave a hand over, but each subsequent characters you make in the same save will gradually get stronger thanks to the combined efforts of the previous, now deceased characters. There is a option to make the game harder, of course.

I havent even finished the game yet, there's so many things to try out and learn, the game map is fairly large and you can even manually generate yourself more things to do thanks to various friendly NPCs.

I havent really talked about how the game plays specifically, but thats to not spoil anything. The combat is turn-based though, and has no time limit, meaning you can take your sweet time thinking your decisions through. A very relaxing experience that does not cause any more stress than it needs to.

There is a small discord server for dungeonmans, including the devs' other projects, and while the community is small, there are a few active people who are always friendly and willing to help a fellow dungeonman.

If you like roguelites, love something to sink many hours into with extreme replayability, buy this game. It's only a few bucks, and you will support the passionate devs who worked hard on making a hidden gem such as this.

The game is still getting updates, bringing plenty of content. It is not dated at all.

Highly recommend.

Get this if:

1. you're crazy into warhammer40k,
2. you liked vermintide 2's core gameplay
3. are a fan of rng looter mechanics where you try to find the perfect setup for a gun or a melee weapon
4. love gory, chaotic combat, and waves upon waves of hordes of enemies coming from all sides.

Warhammer40K Darktide, despite its rough launch, is shaping up to be a very enjoyable experience, if not a bit still lacking on the content side. Definitely get it if you like the idea of a more punchy version of vermintide 2's combat paired with the fanatical religiousness of WH40K.

Review update after Patch 13: Game is finally in a very good base state, with plenty of playstyle customisability between characters, a good amount of maps, weapons, and decent optimization, which is considerably better than it used to be. Not to mention the game looks damn beautiful graphically. Darktide is shaping up to be a game that you won't want to miss if you're crazy into lots of gore and mission-based coop first person shooters.

Lots of shootin' and slashin' fun. The soundtrack is an absolute banger. Optimization on the weaker side for now but will hopefully improve soon

a free to play game with loads and loads of content, definitely lasts long if you get into it. The only real downside that the beginning is pretty harsh (lots of grind, though i would say the whole game is pretty grindy.) The devs are still actively working on the game and are listening to players. No p2w mechanics. I recommend it.

A simplistic fun game that's definitely worth it for 5 bucks.
Bonus points if you have some friends to play with.
