As Ota Imon Studio's debut game, they absolutely knocked it out of the ball park.
Wolfstride is an indie masterpiece, filled with gorgeous art, colorful characters, and a great story to wrap it all up.

At its core, it's a story-rich linear narrative game with mecha fights sprinkled along the way. Characters have unique and humorous personalities, and the voice acting is superb. The story is over-the-top dramatic and the game is very self-aware about it. There will be small subplots you can piece together over the course of the game by visiting locations often, but its mostly "hidden" dialogue and have no huge impact on the main story. The game is separated into days, and new events can occur on every day minus Free Roam days, where you can do whatever you want.

The fighting aspect of the game is great! you maneuver around a battlefield separated into sections with buffs and debuffs to your damage. There are a huge variety of mecha to fight against, although the COWBOY will be your only ride throughout the game, as it is central to the story. New parts make your mecha stronger, watching movies gives your pilot new stances (gives bonuses doing certain actions, like blocking, pushing, etc), and your trainer robot can sell you new moves.

Of course, upgrading your mecha will cost money. While winning fights does pay prize money, most of your cash will be earned grinding out short minigames scattered throughout Rain City. if you over prepare and grind way too much cash, it might get boring, but in my experience I never really had to grind that much.

Some minor nitpicks:
-large amounts of backtracking, visiting old locations. Can't be helped since Rain City is a pretty small place.
-minor bugs that the developers will no doubt patch in the future.
-For those looking for a pure mecha brawler turn based strategy game, sometimes that aspect takes a backseat compared to the main story. However, later unlocks in the game allows you to do just that with non stop battles.
-Some humor is a hit or miss depending on the audience. I enjoyed it because I didn't take it too seriously, but other people might find it way too dramatic.

Game length is about 20 hours or so give or take.
For the price this game is at and the amount of love the devs fit in its little 3.4ish gigabyte body, this is a steal. Definitely check it out!

So I bought this game during the sale and it might be my favorite indie game for 2021 (so far).

Keep in mind that I absolutely hate platformer metroidvania games, but this one was the exception

This game has 2 outstanding positives, the story and the art.
The digital kingdom is very well made, and the lore made me want to explore the world more.

Combat is fluid to an extent, but it looks extremely flashy and is very fun to watch.

The downside is that the game itself is relatively short, I'd say 8-10 hours at most to complete with all achievements unlocked. Bosses are also kind of easy imo.

Its plain mindless fun and makes you nostalgic for times you've never experienced

8/10 for me, if you like metroid or castlevania styled games, this is for you.

rather addicting, if you've played Soul Knight on mobile before its like a 100 times etter difference. I have played both Nuclear throne and ETG before and this game is much more skill based and rewarding to play.

As a absolutely smashing addition to my Behemoth library, Castle Crashers is a hell of a great side scrolling beat-em-up, With a hilarious plot, and a ton of random and goofy easter eggs, it is perfect for those times where you need a good game to play with friends. I recomend an controller of some sort to play this with, because the magic in this game are hard to cast with a keyboard. My only complaint on gameplay would be about the weird 2D/3D aspect that this game tries to give, because it is somewhat disoriented, like you can think that you're hitting a boss from behind but you're actually not.
Overall, 9.5/10, absolutely recommended.
