its decent for what it is. its not a bad game but they keep making 50-60 gb patches. They cant just assume everyone has unlimited super internet.

Honestly, this was a lot better than I expected. I initially slept on this because 'it wasn't saint row' but that was really dumb to be honest, in some aspects id say its better than saints row and i'm going to break down some of the arguments I had back when this released.

So like I said this was one of the things that initially turned me away from the game back when it was released and made me consider it a downgraded saints row BUT honestly I think this is better.
Since they've made these pre-designed characters it allows them to have a lot more personality and you can really tell by the animations.

The player animations are very expressive and well done and the characters feel very responsive (except for the ninja but still not too bad). I don't think you could have such expensive (and so many) animations with a customizable character.


Don't get me wrong, I like saints row too but I do find SOME of the writing a bit obnoxious, a lot of the characters are needlessly rude, vulgar or boast and brag or there's too many meta jokes.
The characters in this game are a lot more likable.
i didn't dislike any of the characters (except for maybe the roller derby player but she aint too bad) And i really liked Friday and Gremlin.

One of the antagonists is a tech bro with an african accent and a virtual anime waifu. I found him hilarious when he simped for his computer and responded seriously when she spouted some generic anime-esc line.

Another really funny moment was when the irish weapons guy on the radio was watching football whilst talking to you and just occasionally shouted profanities mid sentence when his team didn't do well.

In one mission you sabotage a singers autotune and it changes dynamically between his bad singing voice and the autotuned singing; I found that kinda funny since the lyrics were taunting the player but it was all out of tune.




You can tell the devs had fun with this game. The entire credit sequence has photos of the them making the game or doing goofy stuff and they used to stream when they developed it, something you don't see often from AAA game devs. I think it's a real shame the game flopped so bad. clearly a lot of care was put into it and they dared to do something new.


Also during the loading screens one of the characters will say some nonsensical saturday-morning-cartoon-type line whilst a jingle plays. i found that kinda funny and uniqe.



This game had something a lot of 3D games don't; 2D animated cutscenes. The artstyle can be a bit odd at times but it's not bad. it's also unique having it take place in korea and makes for a unique environment.

For some reason your car can only run over enemies like 20% of the time. Most of the time it just pushes them instead of hurting them.

When you go from you base to the city theres this deploy animation everytime. i dont understand why you cant skip it.

The game itself is decent but this port is legit the worst one ive ever seen. I constantly get stuck in LOD worlds, things dont render and after like 20-40min it becomes to broken its unplayable forcing me to restart the entire game. Sometimes you'll also get stuck in infinte loading screens, sometimes ONLY taxis or ONLY police cars will spawn and nothing else...

I first played this game back in 2011 on my ps3. Mafia 2 is a good game, this version of it however is kinda buggy. I don't know if it's this update/'remake' or just the original pc port that this was based upon but there are a few common but really annoying bugs.

*Common bugs*
⁌No traffic and hardly any npc spawn leaving you in a ghost town (Not only is this boring but if you don't have a functioning car and no npcs spawn for you to steel one from you'll have to run all the way back to your garage on foot to get one...)
⁌Sometimes you can't open store doors so you'll have to get into a car, get out and see if the door is openable afterwards.
⁌Sometimes the cars engine sound just disappears

*Nitpicks*
⁌They added stuff from mafia 3, I'm not one of those people that dislike mafia 3 however putting Vietnam War uniforms and 60s cars into 1940 really breaks the astethic, and it's a shame cuz the first part of this game with the wintery 1940s is one of the nicest most emersive environments I've ever seen in any game. Obviously this shouldn't stop you from buying the game but the bugs just might

Substance Painter is credit to team!

takes forever to load, you'd think it'd crashed or something. also crashes the GPU if you minimize it while its starting....

its a shame cuz its pretty fun when it actually works and it has good VAs.

also crashes alot...

a friend of mine introduced me to this game and im really impressed by it. in particular the ninja scroll animations and camera work (not what you think). Due to the cartoony style of this game there's none of that motion capture crap leading to it all being hand animated and these animations blow many of the AAA games animations out of the water. They're really expressive with real good fluid gestures (the version of the term used in art) and the fact that they've managed to create an anime game in 3D without it looking like crap is really impressive. but besides all that technical stuff the game is just really fun to play overall, especially with friends online as you can create your own scenarios and such. Me and my friend decided to fight an army of grandmas and then decided to have them fight each other. Really funny stuff. The cons however is that the UI is pretty bad and there's hardly any instructions on how to maneuver it. We had to test our way through to figure it out but that's a minor thing. Don't let the price tag fool you, its a really fun game and totally worth the 39,99€.

a friend of mine gifted me this game and we played it, great fun. reminds me alot of the golf minigame from puppies to the resuce i used to play as a child. The music also sounds really nostalgic even tough its a new game

Valve quality level design. I also love that the models aren't packed into VPKs, this allows me to easily replace the v_models with the ones of my choice.
