I've played the first few missions of the campaign and it's just really disappointing. From what I've played only about a third of the campaign missions are designed around the core design of the game, i.e. grow, expand, and defend your base. Another third seem to be a combination of a weird tower defence thing except with all the fun of a tower defence game removed. And the last, and by far worst, third is missions where you micro one of 2 heroes you select at the start of the campaign around a facility filled with zombies, very slowly picking up a group of 6 or so and then kiting them back as you kill them and then repeat ad nauseam. And while you're there you're also going to be playing "guess which of these background objects are the one you need to click on to get the currency to unlock stuff for the rest of the campaign". And boy I hope you don't die right at the end because there's no checkpoints so you're going trough it all over again YAAAAAAY! There's other quality of life issues that I experienced as well such as not receiving notifications when certain buildings are under attack, or an individual zombie being too small to easily see on the mini map while I'm looking somewhere other than my base, or not being able to easily re-start the mission when you've accidentally messed up; so then you can either live with your mistake, in my case accidentally sending a starting archer off to her death early on, or quit the mission and get a lovely permanent mark on the mission screen saying that you failed once.

This is all just really frustrating because the core RTS, base defence game-play is really fun and for all I know the quick game option on the main menu could be just what I want. But when I start a new RTS I'm going straight to the campaign to learn what building produces what resource / unit, and what each unit is good for. And quite frankly this campaign just feels like a really cheap sausage, one third meat and two thirds filler.

I can't say what the game was like on Launch; I didn't play it on launch, I picked it up on sale for £17 or something. But having played it, I'd say the game is just more of Shadow of Mordor except a bit more refined, so if you liked that you'll probably like this.

It's fun...........................
If you can get past or just deal witht the grind for credits the game is fun especially in VR. But it feels like the devs don't play the game and aren't listening to the problems the player base has.

Online is prety much garbage with nothing much to do unless you can organise a heist with your friends or want to play with random people. And now they've decided to issue a cease and desist on one of the more important mods for alot of other mods to work which affected online in no way other than making people go on it less meaning they might get less money form micro transactions. The only reason they've done this that I can see is pure and simple greed.
