My Top Games I played of the Year 2021

It was a year of disappointments (New World, Biomutant, Icarus...). But the games I liked and played most of 2021 are:

1. Skyrim: Wabbajack Septimus AE
10 Years after Release in 2011, I am back in Skyrim with the Wabbajack Septimus AE Mod-Pack 2021 - and its stunning! It is unbelievable, what modders can do. It feels like a new game just released in 2021.
2. Age of Empires IV
They really nailed it: The series is back with the utmost care by Relic Entertainment, displaying a commendable work like not many others. AOE is back once again.
3. Medieval Dynasty (Full Release)
Well, I talked about how good it is in EA. And now it is Released: Go get it and build your own dynasty!

4. Diablo II: Resurrected
The fires of hell burn hotter than ever, bringing the tale of the Dark Wanderer back in an eye (and ear) blisteringly good way.
5. New World BETA
New World is my biggest disappointment of the year. But, I had a good time in my Beta playthrough (70 hours). It is not enough to play it again - too repetitive and broken.
6. Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

My Top Games I played of the Year 2020 (updated)

1. Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk?! Yep, the game is buggy. Yep, the AI is bad / the people walking around feel lifeless. But the story? Is a masterpiece! Side Quests? Top-notch! And Night City? What a creation! The world design, from the badlands to heywood, it is gorgeous. You will absolutely love it. The Soundtrack is just perfect. Overall, this an extraordinarily beautiful mess.
2. Ghost of Tsushima
GoT was a sweeping and dramatic adventure. It’s katana combat is precise and bloody, and its recreation of feudal Japan lush and dreamy. A beautiful world to explore, exciting and engaging combat and great variety in gameplay. A must play this year!
3. DayZ Standalone Namalsk
Got me back to DayZ. Namalsk is amazing. The map design perfect. Survival at its finest!

4. Risen series, Risen 1,2,3
Played Risen and Risen 2, but never finished 3. So I decided to replay the trilogy. Not as good as the Gothic trilogy, but a great RPG nevertheless!
5. Assassin's Creed Valhalla
The game is good, but after playing Origins and Odyssey it just feels like the same mechanics all over again in a different age and environment.

My Top 5 EA-Games of the Year 2020

1. Baldur's Gate III (EA)
As a Divinity Original Sin and Baldur's Gate admirer, these two together...hell yeah! The EA was amazing and I am looking forward playing the full release - gonna be a masterpiece!
2. Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord (EA)
This game has it all: It is an RPG, a life sim, a real-time tactics affair and a grand strategy game all rolled into one. You're just one person, not especially noteworthy, in a world full of much more important people, and it's up to you where you go from there.
3. Medieval Dynasty (EA)
MD is one of the best early access releases I have ever played: A stunning massive world, fleshed out mechanics and a clearly defined road map. If you like simulation/survival genres, watch this games development with great interest.

1.Metro Exodus
What a masterpiece! The atmosphere, the story, the world design, the characters, the narration... What an unique experience!
2. World of Warcraft Classic
Back to the roots... My childhood back in 2019/2020. Played a Mage (lvl35) and Warrior (lvl45), but ended up levelling a hunter to 60 (got the rare lion pet "humar the pridelord").
3. Sekiro
Dark Souls Samurai!? Hell yeah! The sword fights are fantastic! Super punishing and challenging, if you can't master the sword skills.

1.Assassin's Creed Origins
Couldn't play it 2017, my first AC, and what a great one! As an egypt and mythology admirer it was hell of an adventure!
2. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Back to back AC, and I loved it! Open world at its finest, greek mythology is stunning.
3. Monster Hunter World
The best Monster Hunter game ever! Amazing fights, weapons, worlds... what a game!
4. Red Dead Redemption 2
5. God of War
6. No Man's Sky: NEXT
7. Worlds Adrift
8. Kingdom Come: Deliverance
9. My Time at Portia

My Top 10 Games of the Year 2017

1.The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Truly a masterpiece. I. Have. Nothing. More. To. Say. It's that good, yes!
2. Divinity Original Sin 2
I never thought I could love a turn based combat game that much... But the story, the world design, the questlines, the characters, the challenging combats (tactician mode)... An amazing game, caught me by surprise.
3. Super Mario Odyssey
One of the best Mario games ever designed. Great new mechanics, huge content, funny, diverse and interesting worlds and lots of linked tradition.
4. Darkwood
What a game! If you like David Lynch and Alfred Hitchcock - you have to play this game. The mysteries, lore, music and athmosphere are absolutely ingenious.
5. Hellblade
An emotional, audiovisuell and fascinating dive into the human psyche. Never played a game like this before - what a journey! What a game!
6. Nioh
