Terraria has been one of my first, and still favorite, experiences that I have ever had the privilege of playing on Steam. Having been a staple of the indie industry itself, Terraria combines some of the most enjoyed and highlighted aspects of survival and building into a unique and truly genius experience.

I have only pros for the game, its immense world generation, a cohesive and fairly balanced progression system, rare and rewarded loot tables for harder difficulties, and tons of replay value. It also has to be the only game with now 4 variants on item progression an storage between multiple worlds and playthroughs, focusing on progressing the character over the world that they live in. Alongside the new Journey Mode, it also gives you a great reason to play the game over and over again to experience and gain all the items in the world to research them all and have a sudo-creative mode that still feels balanced and lacks the boredom of other survival games on god-mode.

Having done multiple full playthroughs of the game, at least two per major update with new characters and worlds each time, seeing the incremental progression of how the worlds have changed and become their own in a sense always brings feelings of nostalgia and remorse to see that 1.4 will be its last major update to the game.

Now with the latest update being the 1.4.3 Don't Starve crossover (another game I highly recommend), a whole new style of playing has been added with the plethora of secret world gen seed. The Constant adds a whole new danger, color palette, and feel to the world of Terraria. It even has higher drops that pertain to the crossover to speed up the process of collection for 100%-ers and journey mode.

This game has made me feel more joy and accomplishment than a vast majority of the Steam library has, and with this being one of the original pieces of content on Steam itself, that is saying something. Predating all the triple A titles that flood the internet, Terraria has been made with love and care that no other game company would bother to even keep up with for such long periods of time. And while a sequel is more than likely off the table, each update feels like the perfect expansion that everyone has needed an craved for to have just another little taste of the game. No matter the year, no matter the graphics, no matter what update or how you play, Terraria is, has been, and will always be the game for you!!!

Honestly a great game to play that has that "Call of Cthulhu" vibe with the early game elevator tricks and how you slowly seep into madness. Puzzle and mysteries that don't require too much thought but aren't merely a matter of gather everything and use it on everything til it works, and even makes fun of you for doing so. And it really does convey one of the SCARIEST ideals in a single cutscene for something that seems like its straight out of the Twilight Zone!

One of the best games I have ever played. It has so much potential, has great replay value, constantly updating and evolving, and an ever expanding universe. This is what No Man's Sky could've and should've been!

Amazing Point and Click randomly generated adventure through the halls in which your pods have crashed. Great dialogue, story, and gameplay.
