That means unless someone is hosting a private server, this game is no longer possible to play, officially.

I still love this game to death, but for those that are passing by this place, the game died because SOE wasn't interested with the revenue this game made so it got cut off.

It was a clunky Dark Souls MMO-ish game, but it still captured the essense of a good, hardcore RPG.
