First up, want to let you all know I dropped the ball with the Server. My foul, but in defense I did have servers up for around two days before I had to pull the money off the internet.

Plans are in order to get cable hooked up again, servers will be up sometime.

The wait is over, we have a server. Bound to soon be server(s) but hey ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I'm paying for this ♥♥♥♥. I'm no smartass when it comes to servers though, and I need them to be tested properly. As of now the server specs are like this:

It starts off on 2fort (Next map is, I have no idea.)

It supports 12 players for now (I can easily change it, but I need tests done.)



As well as so far, you can only join this server through an IP.

I'm researchin more things on how to customize and setup this server, but for now, we need to see how much this baby can handle, because I have another server just like it in storage.


Find some time in your game plans to just join the server and run around.

Plan on having an offical TF2 game next week, tell me when ya'll free, we need to see if this server can actually handle a game of 24 players.

I found a program on youtube that let's you AUTOMATICALLY idle on a "fake" server to get items. I've scanned it, so don't worry about getting a virus. This is incredibly useful if you:

HAVE A JOB (*winks*)

Go to school

Go to a restaurant

Go away from your PC for ANY reason.

What's really cool about this is that you no longer have to run TF2 in a window at work. It has customizable settings, like deleting lower level dupes, notifying you when you get a hat or any weapon, and some other cool features. One more thing, the download link is in the "info" thing.

Currently the idea of having a TF2 server sounded sweet, now; more and more it seems like a soon possibility of having two servers running 24/7 on a static IP.

They are going to be Debian Servers:
AMD 1.80 GHz Sempron Processor 3400+
448 MB of RAM

These are not "Great" servers, but they are a start for testing purposes.

If things go well in testing (Which might start in a month or two.) I will upgrade our servers into a more prime state of having a maxium of 16 slots avabilble at a time, with a couple private slots for [HERO]'s to join in.

I am currently in finding information on running and maintaining TF2 servers, Debian is an old server stand-by I used when I worked for a networking company, however I didn't exactly work on maintaing said TF2 servers.

If anyone has any insight or information on setting up/running/or even previous experiencing in hosting one or being an Admin, feel free to post it here.

As well: if you too would like to add an old computer of yours to the [HERO] Server pool leave a message.

With servers, comes the fact: What the hell is going on this servers?

The first one is going to be 24/7 various Valve approved Arena maps, this is the primary scoure of [HERO] since most of the officers have been found in Arena servers.

The second one I leave for the community to decide:

If you want 24/7 2 fort, say so.
Want a complete jumble of random maps, say so.
Want some already exsisting game mode, say so.

Your vote counts on this second server, so state your choice.

If you know of others who are skilled in the ways of the frag let an admin know and we will set a date to play against his odds/be lazy as hell is just invite him and play him at a later date.
