I was personally really excited to hear about this, so I thought I should let everyone know.

You can now obtain the "Steam Verified" usergroup on TeamSpeak!

Simply add the Team Parallax account as a friend on Steam and message it "!verify". It ask you for your current TeamSpeak username so it can message you with a unique text string. Just copy that text string and message it to the Steam bot account and you'll be given the "Steam Verified" usergroup.

As of right now, it's just cosmetic on the user end. For us it just saves a link to your SteamID and the IP you were connected to on TeamSpeak. Later on we hope to set this up to integrate with Source engine game servers. But that'll be a ways out.

Tonight at 10PM CST I'll be officially migrating our TeamSpeak to a new host. Along with this, I'll be bringing back the music bots, the admin bot, and also adding a new user authorization bot.

The authorization bot will simply require you follow a URL that you'll be poked with whenever you join the server as a 'Guest'. The page you'll be directed to should have our rules listed with a reCAPTCHA at the bottom. Once you complete this, it'll give you the basic member permissions so you'll be able to chat and move (mostly) freely through the TeamSpeak. If you run into any issue while doing this, feel free to message me through Steam. I'll be hanging around the Admin Office tonight. With the implementation of the authorization bot, I will be removing the 'Helper' user group. I may end up bringing it back if we get into doing tournaments for games in the future, but as of right now there isn't a need for it.

I'm also working on adding a Steam-based bot for people to obtain an extra icon flair. It'll be as simple as friending the official Team Parallax account on Steam, and you'll get a "Verified Steam User" tag on the TeamSpeak. This will hopefully allow us to integrate TeamSpeak usergroups into Source Engine servers we run in the future, but as of right now it'll just be for fun.

With the changes we're making, we are still looking at ways to improve the community. Any suggestions or questions are encouraged and appreciated.
