They are back but they aren't that same anymore. Why? Let's start introducing our entire new system and plan.

The new system is to replaced the outdated LevelMod plugins which I had built 3 years ago. It's slow and basically hard to maintain. It's been while I want to rewrite it but it seems there isn't enough motivation to do so, till now. This also means that we have a complete wipe of all our previous data, and we are starting from 0. Quick tech talk, the new plugins are much faster and lighter since the logic are now handled by the our Java backend server which could multi-thread much better than Sourcemod could. This also reduce the maintenance work as scripting in SourceMod is one hell of a job. Our new system will allow us to push update much faster and easier.

EXP System
=================
Removed since it doesn't represent anything. Your total play time is now tracked. This will be replaced by TrueSkill rating system in the future, the same ranking system used by Xbox Live to determine player's skill.

The New Drop System
=====================
Our drops are now centralised, controlled by our backend server which allow us to tune drop rate on the fly based on total drops happened on the past hour. Items that have dropped through this system will be permanent, as they are not constraint to any expiry date. Droppable are gold and tags as for now. We are working on adding Refined Metal/Random Hat drop where a trade offer will be sent from our SteamBot to your account after you got a drop.

Tag
====================
Tags can be from drop or purchased from store. A tag from store will have a 30 days expiry limit and it will be removed from your inventory. A tag from drop will have no expiry date, not only that it also carry a different color(orange) compared to store ones(grey). Rare/expensive tags will have a more unique color compared to the normal tags. Some tags can be obtained only through drop.

Gold
==========
Gold now drops at a random range of 1 to 5. Same as drop, it only happens at the end of the round with 10 or more players in it. It have higher drop rate compared to before.

We refreshed our command list as well.
- !i / !inventory - Open your inventory
- !gold / !me - Show your personal info
- !store - Open the store
-!tag - Show your tags

This new system is still at a infant age where new stuff will be updated over the course of next few days which we will then introduce our new donation system and other stuff as well. Hope you guys like it and happy gaming.

Hi,

I know some of you especially those using Starhub is having ping as high as 200-300ms to our server. We can help you to resolve it but this requires some additional work from you.

You will need to do a trace route(the path your PC takes to connect to the server) so we can identify why your GPS so lousy, taking wrong turn at the wrong traffic light.

For Windows 7/8 user,
Go to Start, search for command prompt, and start it. Then, type "tracert 188.42.252.1" without the quotes.

For Windows XP(ahem..),
Go Start, choose run amd type "cmd". Then, type "tracert 188.42.252.1" without the quotes.

For Mac richfags,
Search for terminal in Launcher, type "traceroute 188.42.252.1" without the quotes.

For Linux(Ubuntu or whatever distro) users,
You can use Linux and you don't know terminal/console, you can stop trying to be pro, and go back to Windows please. Type "traceroute 188.42.252.1" without the quotes.


This will generate a report on your route. Screenshot it and cut it nicely in Paint then email the screenshot to [email protected]

We will then attempt to contact your traffic light operator and let them know they suck at their job. Nvm, they won't know it was you who reported them.

2014 had been a bumpy ride for all of us here as we goes on and off occasionally, switching sponsorship and servers etc. We went down I believe like 2 months ago due to our host no longer able to host us due to constant DDOS attack and our server seems to suffer a hardware failure which caused us to lost a lot of our data and we only have some old backup of them.

We had been operating high amount of servers, cramping in loads of plugins, different game modes and etc, but we sort of forgot why we even doing this at the first place. We been suffering latency issue, and I must admit, we didn't do enough or focus enough on the community part itself.

Last week, I went to Singapore and met one of fans there and how they miss our servers and friends they knew from playing in our servers so much. And recently, I went through some local TF2 servers to play with my friends and the state of some of the servers are pretty disturbing. Some just run maps that have so bad choke points, some have this annoying ads that pop up when I was scoping halfway(You need my help to fix the plugin?).

So come to the point, despite lack of sponsorship or any donation, I've decided to grab a VPS from OneAsiaHost(same host as OneAsiaGamer) to setup a TF2 server. It's pretty cheap and since I have really bad experience in sponsorship or donation, I will keep this self-funded. They say, if you want to do something right, rely on yourself, not others.

That's not all. We pretty much lost our database, only old backup available and I don't like some parts of how Levelmod(built by myself) works so I will be keeping the setup quite minimal without those level/tags/store stuff available. The goal of the server is to provide a good place for our community to play in.

I know some of you pretty miss the tags you have back then. Sourcemod 1.7.0 is more OOP styled(Object orientated programming) and that really makes me think of writing some new plugins on top with a faster database server(MySQL introduce too much lags). I can't promise when I got time to do all these but what I'm looking to do is just a general set of plugins where everyone can use regardless you first time in the servers or you have been playing long enough. We been tired of keeping everyone stick to the server, so we just take the approach of creating a place where community wanted to play, but not thinking of way to retain users.

Will we host more servers? Maybe 1 more, but for time being, we think to keep it small and manageable, and ensure you guys can keep having fun.
