Welcome to KeyLAN - A gaming community based in Gloucestershire, UK! We run annual LAN events in our home county, but for the rest of the year, host a number of online events, competitive tournaments and community nights!

It’s with a heavy heart that we post a long-overdue update to you guys for KeyLAN.

No doubt some of you have noticed that over the last few months things have been getting a bit quieter on our platforms, and the truth is that between Rich, Arthur and I, we’ve been struggling to find a decent life balance that allowed us to still dedicate enough time to doing everything KeyLAN related.

With that in mind, we’ve come to a joint decision that it’s time for us to call it a day for KeyLAN.

We’ve made some amazing friendships over the last 7 years, and crafted some equally amazing memories. Hopefully we brokered some lasting friendships for you guys too, as it was always our intention to bring people together over a common love of PC Gaming.

The Facebook group will stay in place, as will the Discord, but we won’t be actively monitoring either to authenticate new joiners etc.

We do still have a handful of merch in the way of mugs, shirts and lanyards and if you’d like one as a memento, we’re happy to arrange for collection, or to post them out for the cost of delivery [DM me (Andy) to arrange]

Thank you for all of your support throughout the years, and we look forward to continuing to play alongside you all.

What is KeyLAN?

We’re an online community for video gamers that was formed in Gloucestershire, UK, in 2012. We hold annual LAN parties around Gloucestershire.

Who can join KeyLAN?

KeyLAN has always prided itself on being an inclusive community that accepts people without prejudice of race, gender, sexual orientation, faith or nationality. So, everyone is welcome!

What if I’m not very good at gaming?

Then you’ll be right at home! The KeyLAN Community has a broad range of gaming abilities – Whether you’re an eSports champion, or a casual Minecraft player, we hope you’ll find someone with similar interests in KeyLAN!

What should I be mindful of as a member of KeyLAN?

Know that KeyLAN is proud to be a vibrant community with existing members from a variety of different backgrounds, and we will not condone any form of intolerance on our platforms.

We will take action against any KeyLAN member that uses any hate speech or discriminatory terms with racist, homophobic, or prejudiced connotations of any kind. Similarly, if a member is seen bullying other KeyLAN members, this behaviour will be dealt with accordingly.

We will not tolerate any promotion of illegal activities, sharing of personal information against another user’s will (doxxing), or the sharing of sexually, or violently explicit material on our platforms. Some people will be more sensitive to this kind of content, and we ask that you always consider this before posting.

I have had an issue or suggestion with something related to KeyLAN, who can I talk to?

If you’d like to speak with someone regarding a suggestion or issue, these should be brought to the attention of our ‘Badmin’ team to help with. More often than not, there should be a ‘Badmin’ available on Discord, but in the event that there is not, or you don’t have a Discord account, you can do one of the following:

I have my own Twitch/Youtube/Facebook/Website/Pottery club that I would like to promote to other members of KeyLAN

While we try to support our members in whatever endeavours they pursue, if we encouraged our users to promote themselves on our platform, we wouldn’t have time for games!

References to your projects, or occasional sharing will be allowed, but if posting becomes too frequent, you may be asked to dial down the zeal.

That said, we do promote who is live-streaming on Twitch on our Discord platform under our ‘Livebros’ role, so link your Twitch account to your Discord account if you’d like your name to be showcased here.
