Why buy early access games you do know there's a huge chance the game could fail or shut down, that's quite on you. You're taking a risk with any early access game you'd buy.

Is this group dead? ;)

I've only bought to 2 EA games and have definatly learned my lesson. Regardless there should be a concrete set of rules for these early access games. The cash grabs are completely out of control and SOMEONE should be held accountable for it. If I sell you a box and tell you one day it will be full, and you buy it. Then the fault is yours. But if Best Buy sells me a box from a manufacturer, they are responsible to refund my box if it's not filled by the manufacturer within the time they claimed that said box would be full. I would also expect them to stop selling them.
Anything less is just bad business. Bad analogy, I know. LOL :steamfacepalm:

People still have to buy them. IMO gamers are getting more cautious of the EA model, so our message is working.

No news on Day Z refund as yet.
Itchfinger 27. maj 2017 kl. 22:50
Early access takes away all your rights unless they do not deliver the promises they made at the time you made you purchase. What i do not know if they are allowed to change those promises along the way with valid reason.

Next issue: Steam does not give a F**k about you, so you might have to go to court to get your money back. Either by institution (if your country has that) or as private.

In other words: You will not see those money again.. Ever. (Gabe gives you the finger)

Which is why I am done and through with buying early access games. That concept is corrupt and broken and therefore not worth your attention at all.

What do you guys think? Is it really also the customers fault?
- - - - -
It would seem that No Man’s Sky is just another in a long line of titles that developers overshared before they finished the product. They were excited. They thought it would work; and then it didn’t.

The options here aren’t great. Either A) devs basically say nothing while they’re building a game; or B) they temper their boastful claims to the point of meaninglessness. There’s a happy medium there, but it’s not an easy one to strike. The solution doesn’t just lie with the developers. Players must learn to take video game marketing with a grain of salt, and try to judge a game by the product that shows up on the store shelves – not the dream sold by a starry-eyed creator.
Itchfinger 8. sep. 2016 kl. 6:03
There are so many broken, unfinished and directly unplayable games on steam.

Steam ignores your refund request, even if the game is broken..

I lost 4 DLC for fallout 3, just vanished/deleted which i could not get back because my old email was hacked and deleted so i could not prove ♥♥♥♥. Even tho my saved games was in one of those DLC's the character just got transferred back to starting vault on login).

Steam do not give one ♥♥♥♥ about the customers..

If i want a game, i will buy it somewhere else.
Ketsa 30. aug. 2016 kl. 10:01
Someone needs to make a No Mans Sky refund group
[mR] Renegade 30. aug. 2016 kl. 3:10
Decided to invite everyone from my friendslist to this group. Hopefully it'll bolster some numbers.

Would be nice if you guys could make more announcements about these games plagueing steam. Nobody else seems to be. I'm not even sure why Valve isn't really getting involved regarding these "Early-Access" games that never seem to provide.
Dean 26. maj 2016 kl. 12:38
Here's group for those who think EA games shouldn't be existed at all. Feel free to join if you share the same opinion: http://steamoss.com/groups/against_early_access
Dean 24. maj 2016 kl. 10:27
I'm very against Early Access system. This system is purely meant for robbing the customers. You buy the game with full price which is unfinished & you don't have a guarantee that game won't be abandoned & dead. We've seen many examples of that, like Dayz, Next Car Game: Wreckfest... & list is quite big for games which are stuck for years in an unfinished state. You buy them, play more than 2 hours & boom! You can't refund it. This is so tricky system, purely meant for money milking. It would be fair if we could refund any EA game until game is finished, but they won't make it. I suggest everyone, not to buy EA games. Just wait until game gets finished.
Backoftheheadslap 3. maj 2016 kl. 20:45
Booyah!! If you're Australian and have had a refund denied, I suggest you contact the ACCC. They seemed very interested in my story. TBH Valve ... you demand a price premium to Australian users for precisely the same games, the least you can do is not take away my legal rights.
DatPinkPuffball 16. feb. 2016 kl. 17:10
so with this group, I can expect some peope to warn us about bad alpha games?

alright
Ketsa 6. jan. 2016 kl. 3:34
got it
Shredder 6. jan. 2016 kl. 2:57
I think you misread Hostile's question. He wasn't saying that Dayz was complete or worth looking into. He was asking if there were games SIMILAR to dayz and h1z1 BUT that are completed.
Ketsa 6. jan. 2016 kl. 2:15
I don't understand what you are implying
Shredder 6. jan. 2016 kl. 1:56
@Kets-elf- Please learn to read. :/
Ketsa 4. jan. 2016 kl. 0:18
"like day z" yeah ok because thats a game thats complete or worth looking into
Sterro 3. jan. 2016 kl. 23:45
are there any games like day z or h1z1 that are complete or maybe worth looking into?
funkyjuju 9. dec. 2015 kl. 23:45
I agree with the purpose of this group. Thanks for the invite.
Ketsa 25. nov. 2015 kl. 23:06
I've been completely turned away from Early Access titles except from trusted developers like The Indie Stone, Blue Bottle, and LoFi. TDL was the last straw on a pile of busted straws.
2Bits 16. nov. 2015 kl. 10:06
Boycott SandSwept.........they've dropped price to try to raise (scam) more money. Wouldn't be used to further more development.
13. nov. 2015 kl. 22:06
http://www.thedeadlinger.com/archives/6019

I got effed up the wazzoo for $20 on this scam along with a lot of others.
Still on sale in the Steam store for $5.00. WTF!?
And SandSwept is making another game from what I hear.
Scrooge McDuck 25. okt. 2015 kl. 8:59
I'm sick of DayZ development going so slow. The game was broken but fun a year ago, now they put these patches in that ruin gameplay and all they do to fix it is just keep adding things to the game without changing any of the same glitches we had on release of the alpha.
Uncle Rico 22. okt. 2015 kl. 19:37
I want my money back. Then I will buy it again later. I love you dayz. I hate you dayz. I love you dayz.
Mr Sinister 18. okt. 2015 kl. 1:43
I think the main reason for it is because dayz development and moderation has upset more people than every other alpha on steam.

And....... pacifist attempted to gloat about that in some strange kind of way ??. LOL.
Jonboy 17. okt. 2015 kl. 2:21
This one is still growing as well but the Day Z one is even more popular and has hit 1000
[>YATIR<] OnLine, Hayat OffLine 14. sep. 2015 kl. 10:49
Whenever I see the "Update as often as you'd like" thing as a plus for early access for developers in the Steam page I get angry. Might as well add "you can say it's a very early build for 3 years straight if you'd like and still get away with anything you do" if we're going to list every "positive". I am VERY bitter over buying 3 copies of DayZ when it came out and I hate to see Steam defending their horrid practices.
2Bits 14. sep. 2015 kl. 9:39
DusT ..they should refund you if the request is done within 14 days of purchase and you have under 2 hours of play.

Contact them on 'steamoss.com/steamhelp' . You'll have to make another request to followup on the original request. The sad thing is Steam makes no mention how long it takes to approve a refund but once approved you'll be refunded within one week of the approval. Valve software number is 425-889-9642 if you want to try that.
Backoftheheadslap 10. sep. 2015 kl. 20:32
Can anyone assist me? Ive requested a refund for .. thats right, you guessed it DayZ. Its been knocked back twice with no reference to the actual issues. So as an Australian Citizen protected by consumer laws blah blah. My question is, how can I get access to the refund requests I lodged? They complete the picture of my complaint, but STEAM didnt answer when i asked. Does any of you wonderful people know?
Mr Sinister 8. sep. 2015 kl. 17:42
Thats it in a nutshell @ Blackslice.
Number 4 is the one that is the biggest kick to many of us here (im guessing, it is for me).

Some of us have been on steam for 5 to 10 years, i myself am going on 8 year now, the only gaming platform i have ever used.
They really are damaging their own reputation now, and it will come to the point very fast where noone will pay into alphas, and i think it would be a loss, because there is some great developers who have really given it their all and even surpassed expectations. The fun pimps for one with 7 days to die, i tip my hat to them. Fantastic.

What gabe and co at steam have to realize is that in the end it is in their own best interests also, (not just ours as well as decent developers interests too), to bring in some fair balanced policies for the gaming community, because if they dont, then your own point 5 will be reached to a massive degree, where people will simply never buy any alphas ever again.
Loremaster 8. sep. 2015 kl. 15:20
Alpha Game Releases and their sale on Steam negatively impacts the gamer community as such:

1. Confirms the Greed and Audacity the developers and marketers have in releasing an unfinished game.

2. Allows game developers to remain unchecked and to remain on an indefinite timeline whereas game progression and completion becomes a thought of the past.

3. Solidifies the fact that "Alpha" games are now the new norm therefore perpetuating more developers to release trash Alpha games just to milk a few dollars.

4. Validates that Steam allows and backs these practices by offering a common medium and platform for these CROOKS to conduct their business.

5. Lowers gamers' confidence in future release titles and will inevitable create an "Anti-Alpha" sentiment much like the group we're posting in (rightfully so.)
Zimmy Zam 5. sep. 2015 kl. 10:01
Im joining this group but i donrt think you should buy a early acess game if you dont trust the devs. I have payed for some games that maybe have sketchy devs but i also got games that got devs that do their job right. For example: The Long Dark.
Aquanaut 4. sep. 2015 kl. 13:01
510 members ! what an achievment!.. Cheers guys.:correctamundo:
Jonboy 3. sep. 2015 kl. 21:00
500 members. Well done all.
FishyMishy 1. sep. 2015 kl. 11:47
Only reason that it's a thing is because it lets steam rake in the money.
It's just a sad truth.
Kenazz 1. sep. 2015 kl. 3:16
Imo early access game shouldn't exist, they have contributed heavily to the dwindling standards of games nowadays. A beta should be a near-finished version of a game not a barely developed cash cow
Mr Pharenheit 30. aug. 2015 kl. 12:23
yeah i've given up on even caring about DayZ's existence, but I'll take my 30 back if it stops them from making another game, and taking this steaming pile of herpe infested dog excrement off the market.
