Fixed an issue where error messages would display and kick players offline when searching for online sessions.

Also readjusted the matchmaking function to make it easier to find an online session via “Search for an Online Session” > “Matchmake”.

This adjustment reduces the number of occurrences, though it does not completely resolve the issue. We will continue to investigate this matter.

Scrapping with the Shamos

This one is pretty easy, kill 13 little Shamos and gather some tickets. This gives you the Sealed Eyepatch. Nothing special other than its a limited time item you'll eventually be able to wear as a vanity item. It gives Level 1 Fire Resistance.

Wicked Wildspire Warfare

Hunt Diablos + 2 Baroth HR 8 or higher

This one might not be as easy, but its a good way to farm Armor Spheres if you need those. Can never really have enough, but better ones do drop later in the game.

Remember, if you dont participate, all events return during the seasonal festivals. Halloween Festival is right around the corner too.

We're a day in and I really hope everyone is getting their sea legs and enjoying the game. As you progress further in, you'll likely want to join others on their adventures. There are two types of multiplayer. Ones with random people, and ones with friends.

If you are on a quest and just need some extra help, pull up your menu and select FIRE AN SOS FLARE. Keep in mind you have to engage your story monster first, and complete any cutscenes before this will activate. Everyone is doing the same quests right now, so theres probably a thousand SOS flares for your quest, so you may not get anyone joining you. That also means you can go back to town and have plenty of options for joining someone else though...

If you are just looking to get into some trouble, head to the board and select Join a Quest. You have the option of joining a regular quest someone started, or searching for someone's SOS. An SOS will allow you to customize your search for the monsters or types of quest you're looking for. This is a great way to kill some time and farm monsters for more loot.

There are lots of different types of quests to join, like Optional, Investigations, and Specials, or Events. Focus on what you need for now, and when you decide to start farming, make sure you can distinguish between which type of quest you want. Investigations typically drop more loot and are designed for farming.

Now for joining with your friends. We gave this a try last night and ran into a lot of problems. I firmly believe all the issues were because I was "invisible" on the Steam Friends list, but Big Picture Mode did not reflect this. Only the standard Friends list showed me Invisible, so keep that Friends List up on a monitor somewhere.

Here is the best method to joining your friends in MHW. The requirement is that you need to be in the same Online Session. You can create a Private Online Session, your own instance of MHW that you can then invite friends to. Think of this as forming a party. Your friends can still ♥♥♥♥ off and do their own thing, but you'll be together in your own little world.

Once your Private Online Session has been created, your friends can search for an Online Session and there is an option to narrow it down to just friends. They can then join from there. Your other option as the Online Session maker, is to open your options and invite those friends manually. They'll get a notification and can join you from the friends list.

Now that you're all in the same instance/hub/online session, go ahead and start up the quest you want to do. Make sure that quest is equal or lower level than your friends. They can't join content that is higher level than them. Once you have posted a quest, your friends can find it on the board and join it like in the first method.

Don't forget to eat before EVERY QUEST and make sure your early foods are giving you a health/stamina buff. This is crucial to your survival!!

Just a reminder that the game comes out next Friday. This will be the first Monster Hunter game for many of you and if you want to go in clean, thats great. As you progress though, if you find yourself lost with your chosen weapon, or if you want to explore some other weapon types, I can recommend two channels that are quite educational.

I don't know how easy this information will be to see once the game starts, but as Capcom posts event schedules, I'll try to make announcements based around anything significant you should know. On PS4, major updates with new monsters or items were released on the last Thursday of every month.
