A Note About Group Chat (and why you should be on it often)

Hello all. I just wanted to post a quick note about chatting (text, that is) when online.

Whenever I log onto Steam I enter the group chat. The reason is simply that it allows me to send messages if something cool might be happening--like if a bunch of us are on at the same time, I can try to coordinate a game.

This only works, of course, if group members are in the chat as well. The easiest way to know if something is going on is to simply enter the "room" when you are logged in. Don't worry, there is no requirement or expectation that you be chatty. It is more an instant alert system. Of course, if you have stuff on your mind, by all means, chat away. Keep in mind, however, if people are in games they may take a bit of time to respond. Most of us don't like to open the Steam overlay to type while engaged in being shot in the face! :-)

PS: Remember, I don't have to be logged in for the group chat--just click the little arrow next to the group name in your friends/groups list, select "enter group chat," and that's that.

PSS: Also, you can select "Looking to Play" or "Busy" or whatever for your status so people won't expect you to be engaged in any conversation or can look to match up for a game.

If you don't know him, you should! Scarlett gets my vote (the only one that matters currently! hahaa) for Player of the Week. No prizes in our group yet, unfortunately--that will change in the future--but nevertheless, congratulations good sir! Scarlett is quite dedicated not only to the group, but also to the game Red Orchestra. (Ms. hahaa) Johansson plays a LOT, and is pretty darned good too! He is a SL whenever possible, and helps noobs like me not only learn their way around maps, but answers any questions and doesn't hate you when you die! AMEN!

I offered Scarlett an officer position in the Group for the reasons above, so shoot him a message saying "thanks" for his dedication and "good job" for everything else when you get a chance.
