"Revolutionizing safety for an uncertain future" - Vault-Tec

Following the events of Fallout: New Vegas, the Great Khans fled into the Northern Commonwealth to create an empire after they bolstered their numbers. Settling in the previous capital of Montana, the Khans established a government ran by warlords, scouring the wastelands for materials to fuel their growing city of New Red Rock. To the East, the "Cowboys", a pre-war relic faction consisting of free-roaming brahmin drivers, protect their central settlement of Billings, while the Children of Atom seek to build an empire devoted to the great divide. To the Northwest, a vault sits underneath the National Park, unaware of it's surroundings.


The Player, a man or woman born and raised in the Northern Commonwealth, finds themselves in direct contact with one of these factions in 2287, the same time as the Sole Survivor in the East. However, their ambitions of conquest, peace or prosperity are shared by many others. They may either join the faction they wish, found their own settlements, live in a town or go on their own adventure.
