Multiple Sclerosis Awareness HAKKINDA

NOTE

Whilst I am the current admin of this group, I do not moderate or actively particpate in any activity of the group. I was invited in early 2014 to become a member, in which I did. Shortly afterward the original creator left, leaving me this group... I had previously created one of the largest Autism Awareness groups on steam, so perhaps I was in a way focused in on as a likely candidate for managing this group. Frankly I have no time, if anyone would like to take over full operation of the group please leave a message in the group chat.

Multiple sclerosis is a complex disease. While it is most often diagnosed in young adults, aged 15 to 40, we know that it affects children, some as young as two years old. The impact is felt by family, friends and by the community. MS is unpredictable, affecting vision, hearing, memory, balance and mobility. Its effects are physical, emotional, financial, and last a lifetime. There is no cure.

Did you know ...

•MS is the most common neurological disease affecting young adults in Canada.
•MS is more common in people who live farther from the equator.
•Decreased sunlight exposure has been linked with a higher risk of MS.Decreased vitamin D production and intake has been the main biological mechanism used to explain the higher risk among those less exposed to sun.
•Women are more than three times as likely to develop MS as men.
•MS can cause loss of balance, impaired speech, extreme fatigue, double vision and paralysis.
•We don't know what causes MS

I don't know how I got here. But I think its a good thing! My mom has MS and she teached children's church. I hated the 1st hospital that treated her. They did sergury on her throat, thinking it was a blood clot messing up the brain. It wasn't that. She, soon, was left to die. One doctor told the administrator of the hospital to send her to Methodist. Now she has a cut in her neck, and her voice is messed up. Because of that ONE hospital that messed her up. Anyway, she still can't handle much. She gets namonia due to her acid reflex. (caused by the sergury on her neck). Her name is Laura Watson, you can find her on Facebook. Ask her about her story. :)
