I know someone who moved from graphic design/portrait and wedding photography during the pandemic when her business tanked, into 3d virtual space/experience design. She isn't a programmer and essentially built a business starting from the point of having artistic training/experience, added a few classes in a new medium, and has built a business of her own over the last two years. She now has a 9-12 month waiting list. You don't have to be a programmer, just have a decently trained eye for design in an online medium.
