CUMBERLAND GAP, Tenn. (WVLT)- A Cumberland Gap teenager has died after he fell out of the bed of a truck.

It's an unimaginable accident but, now his family is seeing some good out of the tragedy.

Noah Paternoster and his family were cleaning out an old shed and were taking a load across the street.

"We were going about 2 mph, my wife and my daughter saw the accident happen and he flipped backwards," says Noah's dad Todd Hamlin.

Noah was sitting the bed of the truck against the tailgate.

"The tailgate fell and he hit his head and it caused him major trauma," says Hamlin.

He was airlifted to UT Medical Center where he sat in a coma for several days until doctors told them there was too much pressure in his brain.

Before they let Noah go off life support, they realized he had signed up to be an organ donor.

He didn't tell anyone he did it, not even his parents.

"He had a heart of gold. He never wanted any recognition for what he did," says Hamlin.

But Noah's love for others didn't stop there.

"He was making his own video games before he died."

Born with Asperger's Syndrome, Noah struggled socially but he was above average intellectually and was making those video games.

"He had video games he was giving to Children's Hospital so they could have something to watch and play while they were in the hospital."

A sense of comfort for this family on what would've been Noah's 17th birthday.

Noah's parents wanted us to know his organs may not be viable because of certain medications he was on for his Asperger's.

But, they plan on continuing his love for others by finishing his video game and continuing donations to Children's Hospital.
