I think it mostly started (even with various Asperger groups at steam) with a FOR, but nowadays many of these group sites seem to have been abandoned by the group founders, and most of the people writing nowadays are not autistic but are only here to ridicule an make fun of autistic people and autism!
So my advice, now more than ever: Don't trust anyone here (or anywhere else on the internet).
