So. Round 3.

whats new?

- New animations: Running animation and the one handed sword Animations
- The Combat System is nearly finished.
- We now can include Heightmaps in our Map editor. (That means I can create the map in a 3d program and include it into the Map editor)


whats next?

- Finishing the Combat System and making it work
- beginning to integrate Physics into the Project
- adding Assets to the map (Trees, Rocks, etc.)

Was ist neu?

- Neue Animationen: Laufanimation und die Einhandschwert Animationen
- Das Kampfsystem ist fast fertig
- Wir können jetzt Heightmaps in den Karteneditor importieren. (Das bedeutet dass ich die Map in einem 3d Programm machen und in den Karteneditor einbauen kann)


Was kommt als nächstes?

- Das Kampfsystem fertig machen
- Anfangen, Physik in das Projekt hineinbauen
- Assets auf die Map platzieren (Bäume, Steine, etc.)

Things we did in the last couple of weeks:

- The Map is planned out, here's a screenshot of the rough plan, we're now working on realizing it in our mapeditor.
I listend to the poll, so we now have prebuilt ways on this map.

- Another house is finished, this time a bigger one.

Also we got a new house-building feature. If you build a house, the interior always looks different. There also will be a few Planks or Boxes or something around the house, so it doesn't look like there are 10 identical houses in a row.

So: what are we going to work on next:

- Animations (the ones I did for testing do NOT look good....)
- Combat system
- The map (The map is going to take alot longer, so this task will be around for a while...)

Dinge die wir in den letzten Wochen gemacht haben:

- Die Map ist geplant, hier ist ein Screenshot vom groben Plan. Wir arbeiten jetzt an der Realisierung in unserem Mapeditor.
Ich habe auf eure Umfrage gehört, sodass nun vorgebaute Wege auf der Map sind.

- Ein weiteres Haus ist fertig, dieses Mal ein etwas größeres:

Wir haben ausserdem ein neues Gebäudebau feature. Wenn man ein Gebäude baut, wird die Inneneinrichtung immer anders aussehen. Zusätzlich liegen ein paar Boxen oder Planken um das Haus herum. Das verhindert, dass es in einem Dorf aussieht, als wären 10 identische Häuser in einer Reihe.

Also: Woran werden wir die nächste Zeit arbeiten:

- Animationen (Die die ich zum Testen gemacht habe, sehen NICHT gut aus...)
- Kampfsystem
- Die Map (Die Map dauert um einiges länger, sodass diese Aufgabe eine Zeit lang bleiben wird)

What will be possible in Ambarek Vers. 0.0.01a-Snapshot ?

- The movement will roughly be working
- The online-system works, all players are on one map.
- The Build-system works, but yet there aren't any ressources, you build by clicking.

what's missing?

- The fighting system doesn't work yet, I'm still working on the animations.
- There are no groups
- Physics are missing
- There is no AI
- There is no Inventory

Of course all of that doesn't sound too good, but we're working on fixing all the missing things. The worst part though, the mmo - part, lies already behind us and our engine works.

We can't give out a release date yet, because of school and work, we're sorry about that.

Was wird möglich sein in Ambarek Vers. 0.0.01a-Snapshot ?

- Das grobe movement der Charaktäre funktioniert
- Das online-system funktioniert, sämtliche Spieler befinden sich auf einer Map
- Das Bausystem funktioniert, jedoch existieren noch keine Rohstoffe - man baut einfach per klick.

Was fehlt?

- Das Kampfsystem funktioniert noch nicht, da ich noch dabei bin, die Animationen zu erstellen.
- Es ist nicht möglich, Gruppen zu erstellen
- Physik fehlt
- Es gibt keine künstliche Intelligenz
- Es gibt kein Inventory

Das klingt natürlich alles nicht sonderlich prickelnd, aber wir arbeiten daran, die fehlenden Punkte auszubessern. Das Schlimmste, den mmo part, haben wir bereits hinter uns und unsere eigene Engine steht soweit.

Wegen schulischen und beruflichen Aufgaben können wir leider jetzt noch kein Release Datum festlegen, das tut uns leid.

Hey Guys!

We need your opinion on Ambarek.
Imagine the game would be nearly finished. There would be forests, mountains, grasslands and everything else you can imagine from a landscape.

Now we have a question to you guys:

Should there be prebuilt dirtways that can not be destroyed and are part of the landscape?

Here are some pros and cons:

Pro:
- Players will meet each other more often.
- The ways can be used as trading routes.
- It will be easier for bandits to kill traders or for other people to kill bandits
-> more action, more fights.
- It will be easier to develop mapknowledge and you won't be lost at the start.
- You will probably find a castle at a prebuilt way because of the trading.

Con:
- The Landscape looks less natural
- Everything is more tactical -> exploring not really necessary
- Cities will probably stay at roughly the same place.
- There will be player hotspots (maybe thats a good thing, I don't know)

It won't be possible to build roads or paths, because the game is just too fast paced and if nobody wants to destroy these ways, it wouldn't take long until the whole map is full of ways.

I decided that you guys choose if there will be prebuilt ways and paths on the map because... well because you are the ones playing the game in the end.

Hey Leute!

Wir brauchen eure Meinung zu Ambarek:
Stellt euch vor, das Spiel wäre fast fertig. Es gibt große Grasebenen, Gebirgszüge, riesige Wälder und alles was man sich sonst noch vorstellen kann.

Jetzt habe ich eine Frage an euch:

Findet ihr, es sollte vorgebaute Wege und Pfade geben die nicht zerstört werden können und Teil der Landschaft sind?

Here sind einige Pros und Cons:

Pro:
- Spieler werden sich gegenseitig öfter treffen
- Die Wege können als Handelsroute genutzt werden
- Es wird einfacher für Banditen sein, Händler zu töten oder für normale Spieler, Banditen zu töten
-> Das bedeutet mehr Action, mehr Gekämpfe.
- Es wird einfacher, Mapkenntnis zu erlangen und am Anfang ist man nicht verloren
- Wenn man den Wegen folgt, wird man warscheinlich Burgen und Gruppen finden.

Con:
- Die Landschaft sieht unnatürlicher aus.
- Alles ist taktischer -> Das Land entdecken ist kaum mehr nötig
- Städte werden warscheinlich ungefähr an den selben Plätzen bleiben.
- Es wird Stellen geben, an denen sich viele Spieler tummeln (Vielleicht ist das auch gut, ich kann mich nicht entscheiden)

Es wird nicht möglich sein, Straßen oder Pfade zu bauen, weil das Spiel so schnell ist, dass sich das nicht lohnt und diese Wege zu schnell alles bedecken wenn sie keiner zerstören möchte.

Ich hab festgelegt dass diese Entscheidung euch obliegt, weil...
Naja weil ihr das Spiel spielt.

Hi Leute, Exima hier:

Wir haben die Slotanzahl unseres alten teamspeak servers erhöht und haben ihn zum Community ts erklärt.

Jeder der Lust hat, kann auf den ts server joinen. Für Clans ab 5 Mitgliedern bieten wir kostenlose Channel an, bei mehr Mitgliedern auch Channelstrukturen und Hierarchien die administrierbar sind.

Sämtliche Channel haben den besten Soundcodec der auf teamspeak möglich ist und jeder User der auf den Server joint kann sich selbst temporäre Channel erstellen.

Mit anderen Worten:
Jeder der grad Langeweile hat kann ja mal online kommen und bisschen quatschen oder zocken.
