Nice design. The gameplay consists of a series of short rounds (2-10 min) on randomly generated maps, with some progress and improvements persisted across rounds. It's a great format for casual players. Quite fun to replay several times.

I finished the game in around 4 hours on Normal. I don't replay games right away a lot, but this game might be the exception. Love the art style and the game play is is super fluid and fun. Also a strategy game where it gets much harder as the game goes on and is surprisingly unforgiving.

I do wish there was a little more meta progression between runs, a comprehensive codex, and a former runs log, but all together this game has the sauce. Great buy, especially on discount.

at first it looks funny and chill game to play. but after 2 hours its getting annoying.

firsty; controls are really bad. you can oftenly click wrong units or give wrong commands.
Selecting which unit goes to heal, which unit uses ulti into which zone, in slow motion time sequence can be problematic. especially in complicated islands with hills.
secondly; units are pretty stupid, a whole squad can let pass 1 enemy and and that 1 enemy can raze houses very fast. So, a flawless task may suddenly collapse. also commanders can die easily.
Thirdly if you started a map with a wrong/weak squad you will get very bad outcomes and you stuck in restart that mission for "less" bad outcomes.
and if you cannot build enough strong units, with different special abilities in early islands, you will be perished in next islands.
if you push your border with turn, you lost other island choices. So if you want to go earlier and smaller islands you cannot go back to level up. you need to think well which island you attack and can your troops stay alive.
