And what does the game mechanic demand of you? leans forward intensely It demands that you stay in the light to maintain your sanity.

But here's where it gets really interesting - you can't look directly at the monsters. The more you look, the more your sanity drains. This is EXACTLY what Jung was talking about when he discussed the shadow self! You have to acknowledge its existence without becoming consumed by it. And that's precisely what's wrong with our modern society - we either deny the monster completely, or we stare at it until we go mad!

Puzzles are well-integrated into the narrative, and while they can be a bit tricky at times, they add a sense of progression that doesn’t feel out of place.

Amnesia is a brilliantly crafted horror game that balances atmosphere, storytelling, and psychological tension. And if you're a fan of slower, psychological horror that focuses on tension rather than jump scares, it's definitely worth playing.
