I would recommend giving it a try because it's free and I had decent fun exploring and killing monsters at the beginning. Unfortunately my excitement soon wore off because of several glaring issues.

- Enemy respawning is too broken- you kill everyone, go peak around a corner and they all have respawned already.

- On top of that, upgrading was broken when I played- I put all my points in Strength; I progressively kept getting stronger and could kill enemies with less hits; then after another upgrade I was a couple times weaker for some reason.

- At that point I stopped killing most enemies and it was not a problem whatsoever. I actually did another playthrough later where I easily walked past everyone till the exit.

- And to add to that, exploring doesn't feel rewarding since all you usually find are consumables which you don't really need.

Concept is promising but there's a lot to improve to make this a good game.

HOLYYY. I was not expecting a game of this tier. Absolute banger mix of exploring, combat, magic, and inventory system. There are some minor things id like fixed of course, but even as it stands now i will 1000% be playing this game to completion when it fully drops.

OH MY, AND ITS THEIR FIRST GAME. Might have to keep an eye on this studio!

An okay game inspired by kings field, I recommend it but only to those who are into the retro type kings-field games. Combat is clunky, there's a good bit of input lag, and the game overall is just very easy. There's lore, but it feels very surface level and direct, there's not much depth or mystery about it. The weapons and level up system are also very surface level and there's not much choice of what you can actually use. The retro grain filter is also very bad IMO, i would tone it down or let us turn it off. Everything also feels like its not impact or important at all because the music is always at full blast like your in a boss fight. The thing that made a game like dark souls special is there was almost never any music throughout the whole game. It was just you by yourself in an unforgiving world, the music in this really takes away from the experience. Also half the level design is just very cluttered and needless. There's at least 20 paths that just lead to dead ends, and because of the grain filter it's hard to tell what is a path and what's not. There is clearly a lot of passion and time put into this, but at most it's just a proof of concept than an actual game. 3/10
