Maybe this stands better or is more interesting if you're a fan of their music, but I'm coming at this without that context.

Ultimately, this is a pretty solid time, with very strong atmosphere and music. On the gameplay front, it leaves a lot to be desired. There's moments with very poor communication to the player (first boss puzzle was very janky to actually solve, even though I intellectually understood the solution before a walkthrough), and I sequence broke extremely hard on the second character so I missed a large portion of levels.

If you rise above the chaff of indie horror, typically that is because there's a pretty interesting core mechanic you're playing with, bogged down by finer details. The opposite is the case here, this game is notable because the atmosphere is pretty well made, huge fan of the maw (iykyk), but I actually think the rest of the package is quite weak. None of the puzzles or gameplay mechanics are particularly interesting or engaging.

Worth your time, worth a price even, but I was a little disappointed because I think this isn't entirely far from being something truly great. Clearly there's talent.

That was pretty rad.
The visuals were a standout—beautifully crafted and a great homage to classic games of the past. The gameplay was refreshing, striking a nice balance by not over-explaining itself and allowing you to discover things naturally without hand-holding.

That said, I would’ve loved a bit more world-building among the characters to deepen the experience, but considering it’s a free game, it’s hard to complain too much.

Oh, and the sound and music? Absolutely stellar. Huge props to the team for nailing that aspect!
