Demo content

Build and grow your city from a small village into a bustling kingdom.
Freeform, hand-drawn district system.
First map.
Complete demo tutorial.
Construct up to 41 different buildings, including:
- Upgrade your houses up to Tier 4 by catering to their dwellers' needs.
- Build, upgrade, and manage 10 civil buildings, each with its own influence area system.
Meet 8 of our 12 Companions.
- Their storylines remain a mystery 🤫, but they will offer their skills to help you with the Perks and Progression system.

- We know the current system can feel unclear, especially at higher tiers or when areas overlap. We're working on visibility, activation mechanics, and UX improvements to make it clearer.

Terrible performance on lowest graphics settings

Hey this game looks really promising but for me it had annoying lag spikes all the time and ran at less than 30 frames per second. I was using the lowest possible graphics settings. My specs: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X Nvidia GTX 1070 64GB of DDR5 RAM running on a NVME SSD...

I have over 150 townspeople, how come only 6 of them can work?

The town has over 150 people in it, there should be more than 6 available to fill roles What kind of a person would make this design choice?

Ultrawide issue?

I have an ultrawide monitor and my screen gets cutoff vertically, I dont see any options where I can change this and there's no scroll so I can't play the game :(

In anticipation for our upcoming demo, we are happy to invite you to our first Closed Alpha Playtest!

Until January 20th, register to join our exclusive playtest and share your thoughts! The spots are limited so we can read and take comments in account properly but your inscription and participation are invaluable.
It will help us immensely if you could play and share your feedbacks.

Architects Log I: The End (Not Clickbait)

Greetings future Monarchs and happy new year!

Welcome to our very first Architects Log (which is a fancy word for Dev Log that I just came up with)

With the end of 2024, we look forward to our next adventure but before that, we also want to thank you and take a look back to our incredible journey so far!

And what-a-ride!

This year, we ended with a bang at PC Gaming Show with our trailer finally out in the world and we can proudly say that “we built something beautiful” and we will continue to build something to be proud of!

2025 will also start with a demo coming soon and more announcements to come!

📜 "Once upon a time"

Our adventure started in June 2022 with the creation of Irregular Shapes and part of the team joined Rémi on October 2023, growing from 4 people to 11 talented members.

We had one dream and a woodcutter’s axe… and ideas for organic districts creation while your inhabitants would create roads.

So it was natural for us to create a type of game we were passionate about: A City-Builder.

Back in the days, the project was called “Land of Medieval Cities” (very original, much wow) and houses looked like Golden Grahams in a green field.

With some interesting results… (no cows were harmed in the process!)

👀 Some hints and what to expect

Influence area and resources will be at the core of our city-builder and we are working hard to improve and shape the economy system. We wanted to have a meaningful system, tied to our district mechanics that could evolve with your actions.

It might seems overwhelming but you will not be alone ! Several companions will join you in your journey. The narrative twist is here to embody the evolution of your city. As you progress, your story will too and your decision will affect those who gravitate around you one way or another!

The Advisor is the first figure you will meet (but we have many more to come!) He has changed quite a bit over the past few years (and you might recognize him from somewhere…)

The highlight of the year? On December 5th, we officially revealed *City Tales - Medieval Era* during the PC Gaming Show!
