Some thoughts on the UI

The broken glass animation behind the buttons in main menu is pretty stylish. I kinda like how those statues are incorporated into the credit screen. The reset button in setting menu usually revert shadow setting to medium, and sometimes to low. I can't figure out the exact steps to reproduce it, but I can record a video if you need it. When I work on UI at work, I put all un-applied changes (either made by the user or the revert button) in a pending-change-map. Maybe that will help? The default mouse sen...

Having problems on Steam for Linux?

I really can't play the game on Ubuntu with Steam for Linux, the game opens up and it shows a loading screen, but after that get's closed without any error, warning, or message. Has anyone been able to run it?

Not Bad for a Free Game

First of all I didn’t finish the game. I got stuck in a repetitive corridor where I had to "look for a difference". After repeating more than 7 times I started to feel nauseous, so I decided to stop.

Overall, it’s a decent walking simulator with mild horror elements. The setting takes place in a deserted factory filled with female and baby mannequins. The gameplay revolves around collecting mirror shards and returning them to mirrors to unlock doors. There are also some light puzzles involving finding padlock passwords.

The atmosphere is alright. The factory doesn’t feel overly creepy but uncomfortable with loads of mannequins. The gameplay gets repetitive after 10 mins due to the limited variety of mannequins and rooms. That said, some scenes are well designed. The dev know how to use shadows to create some striking art like a crying female mannequin by a waste point, and another one near the stairs kneeling with lights from behind.

I say mild horror because there’s only one monster in the factory, and it's not fast or intelligent so I could usually bypass him. If I get caught, the monster just throws me away, offering me another chance. The real challenge wasn’t escaping, but figuring out the path I haven't been on and climbing up ladders. The performance could be better because one ladder next to a locked door just won't allow me to climb its last step without 5 tries.

Overall, it’s a good horror experience for my 30 minutes of gameplay. I clicked on the dev’s page and saw all games are free. I’d be happy to try more in the future.

Nice build up for a horror game, interesting implementation using mirror shards to unlock an area. Numerous moments of dread and walking backwards to keep an eye on these sneaky inanimate objects.
