Is this game similar to Baldur's Gate 1 and 2? If not what are the differences. Description is confusional.

Hi, been wanting to buy this game for a while now, but I'll say it upfront, I'm more of an RTS player than an RPG player. So far playthrough of this game have shown very little RTS gameplay over the RPG gameplay and the RPG gameplay involves a lot of walking around searching every little nook and cranny. I'm not into these kind of thorough explorations. But I noticed that a lot of good items come from doing these.
