A nice tale of ambition, corruption and redemption, very much inspired by the likes of Scorsese.
Gameplay-wise it’s pretty bare-bones, though. I would even hesitate to call it a point and click adventure game. It has all of the hallmark mechanics, sure, but they are used very, very sparingly. The game does present some interesting mechanics of its own, though, like persuasion.
Unfortunately, the game has almost no proper puzzles, as solutions to most problems are almost immediately presented through available dialog options. That said, there was a nice puzzle sequence towards the end of the game, which was appreciated.
Overall it felt more like interactive fiction, which isn’t a bad thing at all, as the story was quite interesting to follow, the voice overs were of high quality and the art was pleasant to look at. I’d say that the game managed to capture the spirit of gangster stories quite well, and I had a lot of fun role playing a downfall of a typical Scorsese character. Good stuff!
