We’re back with more info on the features and game mechanics of Biped 2. You’ll be able to see them for yourself very soon, but for now, we'd like to tell you more about what we have in store for you.


Just like with the first installment of the franchise, one of the main features of Biped 2 is its co-op mode. After all, it’s a lot easier and more fun to overcome challenges when you’re teamed up with a friend. But this time around, we’ve made some tweaks and changes to the mode to make it even more exciting.

So get your friends together and get ready for four-player mode! You can play online or share a single screen using four controllers — whatever you prefer. And if you'd rather use keyboard and mouse controls, we’ve got you covered too — Biped 2 will allow one player to use PC controls while the other three use gamepads.

If you’ve played the first Biped in two-player co-op mode, you’ll be familiar with most of the features on offer here. For example, all four players will see each other on the same screen in real-time, and they’ll have to stick together to beat each level.

But there’s new stuff too! We’ve carefully updated the game's levels and mechanics to make sure that four-player teams have a seamless experience. These updates include new visuals for some levels and slightly tweaked rules for certain gameplay mechanics. It's all designed to keep your adventure fun and easy to navigate.


In the first Biped, you might have encountered robots that looked a good bit like the two main characters. In Biped 2, your potential companions include elementals, beings that can either help you traverse the levels or get in your way. There are fire, water, earth, and air elementals, and you'll find lots of ways to interact with them. For example, one thing you can do is…


Adventurers will come across special elemental “buckets” with a mark on them telling you how many elementals need to be put inside. Catch the element-based creatures and put them in the buckets to clear the way. And don’t worry, they aren't the type to hold a grudge — even if you throw them around or give them a good kick. Many of the game's mechanics actually require you to move elementals in a certain direction.


Sometimes, adventurers might need something special. A gust of wind to carry them far, far away? A stone platform hovering over a gaping chasm? That’s where elementals come in handy.
Look for special machines to help you combine elemental powers, then stock them with the elementals you’ve captured. Fire and water will create a strong gust of wind, water, and earth will make a sticky mud platform, and two earth elementals together will make a nice stone platform. It's like magic!


There are elemental enclosures scattered throughout the game. You’ll need to fill them to progress through a given level. The enclosures say exactly how many elementals of a certain type you need but be warned: Catching elementals can be a bit like herding cats since some of them will try to escape by moving in the opposite direction. Teamwork is key here!

We’ve got some more details about the game mechanics you’ll encounter in Biped 2. Today we're going to talk about the Merging mechanic. In order to overcome some of the obstacles you’ll face on your journey, the bipeds will have to join forces and work together. Let’s see what you can look forward to.

Special Drift
This mechanic will probably be familiar to those of you who’ve played the first Biped game. However, the layout of the rails is more complicated now - they can consist of several tracks that converge and separate again. Adventurers will have to take on specific roles. After Merging, one biped will be in charge of moving along the rails and avoiding obstacles, while the other will gather items and throw them into special baskets in order to open the way forward.

Shield and Projectiles
Shields up! As before, this mechanic puts one of the bipeds in charge of the “legs,” while the other one acts as the “arms.” While the first adventurer is progressing through the level, the other will deflect incoming projectiles using a special shield. Pay attention to the color of those projectiles. Red indicates offensive projectiles that disintegrate when they hit the shield, but yellow projectiles bounce off of it. By deflecting them with the shield, you might be able to activate an essential switch or open the way forward.

Floating Platform and Grappling Hook
Even if you find yourself without solid ground to stand on and have to make your way through water or air, don’t panic! While one-character steers the floating platform, the other uses a grappling hook to latch onto special anchors placed throughout the level and pull the platform forward. However, you’ll have to be careful and keep inertia in mind. If you move too fast, you won’t be able to turn around, so teamwork is crucial.

Sliders
We all need to rely on something dependable sometimes... but sliders are just the opposite of that. When the bipeds merge and one of them latches onto an object, the slider will start moving along with your characters. You’ll have to carry it to a different location in order to progress through the level. During their journey, the bipeds will have to trade places multiple times - the biped who was carrying the slider will have to start moving through the level, and vice versa.

Cannon
Ready, aim, fire! The cannon is the last Merging mechanic we’re going to cover today. The bipeds will have to join forces once again - one of them moves the cannon while the other shoots it at targets.

Cannons come in several varieties. The water cannon can help you put fires out (when facing hostile fire elementals, for example), push objects with its stream, and fill special hollow targets with water.

You’ll also find color-coded targets. If you’re hit by one of them with a projectile of the same color, another object of that color will break. But be careful - if you hit one of these targets with the wrong projectile, only the target itself will be destroyed.

We've got another update on the upcoming game Biped 2. Today we’re going to show you a selection of new game mechanics. You’ll face plenty of unfamiliar obstacles and dangers, but don’t worry! You’re definitely equipped to meet these challenges in co-op or single-player mode.

1. Swinging Balls

Swinging balls are an obstacle you’ll have to evade. Every ball swings at the same pace, but in order to slip past one, you’ll need to plot your trajectory with great precision.

Adventurers might find themselves on rough terrain that hinders their movement, but if you work together, you can power through.

2. Move and Freeze

Some of you might find this mechanic familiar from party games you played as kids. Adventurers will have to make their way past hovering air elementals. As soon as any adventurer enters the area underneath an elemental, they’ll have a few seconds to freeze in their tracks. A special timer will indicate the remaining time. If an adventurer fails to freeze fast enough, they will be teleported back to the start of the level.

Sentinel Elementals may be positioned differently, flanking the platform the adventurers are trying to traverse. When this happens, the "freezing zone" will be rectangular rather than circular. Aside from that, the mechanic remains the same: just freeze before time runs out!

3. Tornado

Tornadoes occasionally appear on a level, threatening to trap an adventurer inside. To get out of a tornado, move your feet while facing away from the center of the tornado, or else turbulence will launch you in a random direction.

4. Floors and Ceilings

In order to traverse this portion of the level, adventurers will have to use sticky platforms located above and below them. Naturally, aside from agility, they’ll also need teamwork — one adventurer will serve as the team’s "legs," walking on the platform, leaving the other free to pick up and interact with items. But be careful — whenever the "floor" and "ceiling" switch places, the adventurers' will instantly be reversed.

As you may already know, we're making Biped 2. And today we're ready to reveal some new secrets and details about what's to come!

As we've mentioned before, the game will be released simultaneously on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch and will include local and cross-platform online co-op. It's also getting a new four-player co-op mode!

There's just one question: which challenges await our new rescue team (or lone hero, since the game will have a single-player mode as well)? Today we'll be lifting the veil a little to tell you more about the upcoming journey.

You can look forward to 16 levels that will test your determination, coordinated teamwork, and... mastery of the game's new mechanics! Here's some more info about them.


The rescue robots need to carry a ball to a certain spot in the level. But it's not as easy as it sounds! You have to kick the ball to get it moving, so calculate your trajectory well and make sure you get the ball past the obstacles and traps. Some challenges will require lightning-fast reflexes. The ball can "heat up,” at which point you'll have to immediately pass it to another explorer. Or it may change color after being kicked, requiring you to take turns kicking it.


This mechanic might remind you of a sliding puzzle or a dance-based arcade game. One of the explorers has a "remote,” a set of interactive cubes that activate platforms on the other explorer’s side that they can move across. Both will see the triggers that the first player has to step on, as well as the outlines of the platforms those triggers activate. But there's more to it than that! You’ll also have to watch out for fireballs flying over the platforms and coordinate your actions to change your route quickly.


Get ready to soar to new heights! In addition to the familiar rail rides, you can now go hang gliding. Spread your wings to get through the aerial parts of the level, but be careful—your glider will descend eventually, so calculate your trajectory exactly.


If hang gliding isn't enough for you, we've got you covered! A helicopter controlled by both players will take you even higher. As one of the explorers grabs onto the device and becomes the helicopter's "hands,” the other one can interact with various objects while in midair. The player controlling the helicopter has to skillfully navigate between locations to get the other player to the next passable area with pinpoint precision, while also enabling them to access new areas along the way.
