A bit late to the watch dogs party, but this was my first playthrough in 2025 and I enjoyed this game. Chicago is beaut, Aiden prowling it's streets looking for fools to take down feels like a proper Chi town Batman.

I find the story mostly interesting. The only part I found funny was in Act II when the plot required Aiden to show a lot more urgency but he runs off trying to find a bunker instead. But I do like the story and the characters, Aiden and Clara being my favourites.

The side missions are alright, a bit repetitive after the first few times but I find gang hideouts somewhat challenging so it remains fun.

It's an alternate GTA style open world game with puzzles in the form of hacking. While the GTA comparisons haven't always done this game well, it's a fun alternative and a good game in it's own right. No achievements in this game though, hopefully soon.

Underrated game. It just lacks of, maybe a new game+. If not, maybe some cheats codes for unlocking all weapons from the start of the game, no wanted level, freeze the hero protector villain status, unlimited ammo and crafted items. And maybe some more criminal convoys or gang hideout. Absolutely hate fixer contract because of the driving mechanics of this game. Sometimes all of that adds fun to the game too.

This game came out in the height of online multiplayer popularity, thus a lot of the best features in the game are catered to multiplayer, which is no longer supported for this game. So really you're left with only single player functionality. That's not a bad thing, since single player RPGs are mostly all I play. However in this game, the world is pretty bland. There aren't any consequences for crime. Break in to any car you want, blow up any bit of infrastructure you want, rob anyone you want and it doesn't mean a thing. Which brings me to my next point. The main character is supposedly good, so what sense does it make that I go around robbing everyone with my hacking software, breaking into cars, spying on random people that are just playing Just Dance? It makes me feel like I'm playing a perverted person. Also, I'm trying to keep a low profile, but I feel compelled to use this so-called horrible invasive software to take it upon myself and stop all crime. Am I fighting people who invented this software, or am I trying to be hacker superman? Also, someone explain to me why cameras see me all pixelated, masking my identity, yet just walking around town people are constantly recognizing me as "that vigilante everyone is looking for"? There are just so many inconsistencies in this game, I can't recommend it. If you are into open world Far Cry type games, and you just want to check all the boxes, do everything you can, and able to look past these inconsistencies, I'd recommend this game on a sale. Honestly I bought the game for all the hype it had, and I really didn't see it. Couldn't keep myself interested.
