i love stealin, i love takin things

After having played the amazing & highly acclaimed original Thief games from years prior, I looked forward to playing a much more up-to-date version of a Thief title. However, the team of game developers have largely ruined the series. It is now full of profanity (something the originals NEVER needed to resort to), the programming has been poorly implemented, the level design is poor, the scripting is poor, & the Steampunk style has been poorly adhered to (e.g. Basso has a New York accent - not in keeping with the style at all).

Here, it is apparent that the game team had not studied the originals at all without proceeding to create this world. Whereas the originals were gripping throughout, this is.... just boring.

For someone like me that loves the Thief series, this game I sadly do not recommend.
Awkward cut scenes. Awkward beginning and end. Awkward loading between windows.
This game does not follow the original story, but somehow exists in some strange parallel version of the first 3 games.
If you want to play a great stealth game, but don't necessarily want to be stealthy then play Dishonored.
I played this once years ago, but probably never again.
