- Game should now correctly resume at fullscreen when returning from screensaver or alt-tab.


- Gamepad / Steam Deck users should now see tile highlighting when farming to help with your farm layout and seed placement.

- Steam Cloud Saves : Synching games across platforms and devices should now be possible via Steam Cloud. To ensure you have this functionality enabled, open Steam and click Steam -> Settings -> Cloud.


- Naval combat victories should now correctly update the coins displayed from the coins you get as plunder.

- Fixed surface rendering and mouse coordinates in windowed and widescreen modes.

- Steam Deck ocean optimizations

- Cave tile fixes

- Better quest descriptions for initial Pirate and Global Trade quests.

- Improved mushroom hit box

- Expanded melee hit box

- Goblin boss damage decreased from 10 to 9

After more than four years of work, Dreaming Isles is out!

With less than a month to go before launch, I've been wrapping up design and development for chapter one of Dreaming Isles. Along with some final gameplay functionality, I've implemented Steam achievements and Steam screenshot functionality.

From here until launch I'll be playtesting and bug fixing to the best of my abilities. I'm sure there will be bugs post-launch (what game has ever launched without any?), but I'll do my best to find and squash as many as I can.

Soon after launch I'll begin working on Chapter Two's content. You can read more about the three planned chapters here:

To be clear, the follow-up chapters two and three will be free updates, and the initial release will be a complete game. I just want to set expectations that the story will continue post-release.

Being a solo dev is wonderful for so many reasons, but it also has some downsides. One of those is the inability to test and debug every scenario and every possible sequence of events in a game as complex as a farm sim. No matter how much testing I do, until the game is in the hands of many people, I can't know all the bugs that are lurking and ready to leap out.

It also means that it's difficult to see the forest for the trees as far as gameplay goes. It's hard to see the big picture of how it feels for a first-time player to experience the game.

Now that more people have played it, I've come to the painful conclusion that Dreaming Isles is not quite ready for release. It needs more polish, more debugging, and more gameplay clarity.

So, as difficult as this is, I'm pushing the release back to January of 2025. I want to do right by you, the player, and I want to release something that I'm proud of.

I apologize to anyone who has been anticipating the game (all three of you!). I hope this will make for a better experience come January.
