Reviewed a NIS game recently, so I'm a bit out of ideas what new things to write about this one.
- Game doesn't rely on you playing (or reading through) decades worth of other Trails games. This was my first Trails title and I rarely felt lost when a character who clearly had an established history as a Trails-char showed up, because their story either didn't matter much or was explained in-game. Might have missed some cameos or other "Hey, I know that guy"-moments, but It really is fine by me. It's mostly name-drops and mentioning "that event".
- Game is fun. Lots of customization and decently challenging. Some replay value, but you can do most of the important/interesting things during the first game if you plan your activities a little.
- Story is good. Might be a little clichée, but it works.
- Graphics often look like PS2-3 era. My old potato PC made happy noises instead of screams for mercy, so I'm fine.
- Again, instead of smoother textures for the environment, they invested a weird amount of energy in the sexualisation of the female characters. I could have done without the skimpy outfits, a sixteen year-old with E-F cups, jiggle physics and excessive amounts of close-ups of meticulously rendered T and A. But that's fanservice for the younger player-base, I guess (or the really creepy older ones).
- Generally, the game was really good and I enjoyed playing it.
