I recommend using some kind of image sharpening for this game, you should be golden after that.

Don't really care what other F.E.A.R. fans say about this game. I've played through all of them now. What you have here is not a Monolith developed game, what you have is a Monolith infected game, yes somehow their DNA still made it in despite it not being made by them, couple that with John Carpenters artistic consultation and what you end up with is a masterpiece in its own right. The combat is outrageously tight and responsive, some of the finest you will ever experience. I really enjoy Paxtons grinning comments and interjections while playing through as The Point Man, it sounds raw gritty and feigns with great delight Monoliths classic tongue in cheek sense of humor and smarm.

The cutscenes really tie in this game, giving it coherence and continuity. If you allow it in, it is a really immersive high speed freight train screaming to a smoldering hell. I love how the creative direction of this game just flat out didn't give a damn how sick it came off to the player base or viewership. It's unapologetic concerning that, which I find refreshing in today's gambit of garbage, gravy train riding, money grabbing, people pleasing, drop down to knees, and vacuum off some politically polite snowflake that demands you be a proper gentleman.

So what do I ultimately think about F.E.A.R 3? I think you catch the drift of my sentiments already.

Being able to go back and play as Paxton is just the icing on the cake. The game's cover system is optional, I found myself only partially using it, ultimately it's there if you want to use it but is easily fully omitted. The sound design and music are top notch, although being slightly glitchy on rare occasion. The sound department in this game just flat out owns and exerts its dominance compared to a lot of stuff out there.

Shooting mechanics are good and the power armour sequences are quite fun. Everything else is below average. Would recommend this only if it's on sale. Would not recommend for anyone who enjoyed F.E.A.R 1 or 2, it's not the same game as the previous entries.

FEAR 1 came out 6 years before this game
