Echo Point Nova is one of the best high-speed shooters since Tribes, albeit bite-sized. It is another feather in the cap for the studio that released Severed Steel. It makes great use of floating islands and open spaces, and the campaign will take about four hours to complete. Moving around the world feels awesome, with a handy grapple and generous mid-air jumps that allow you to remain airborne. And most combat arenas are well designed to allow for satisfying looping hit-and-run attacks. Although there are a few imperfections, Echo Point Nova offers the space and speed that few other shooters dare.

The movement system in this game is just short of insane (good) and I don't need to know anything else to wholeheartedly slam the YES YOU SHOULD PLAY THIS button.

But, really, it's worth getting. Once the loop of using all your movement tools comes together, you can do absolutely incredible moves regularly and it feels really good. It's intense, but so, so satisfying.

Proof that the 'rule of cool' works

Played the demo, was hooked 10 minutes in. Bought the full game, and a 9 hr marathon later I 100%'d it the same day I bought it. Something about it puts one into a flow state of SSX Tricky proportions whilst activating your want to bring any living opposing creature to cease its existence. Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed. Play the demo if you don't believe me.

Echo Point Nova is an absolute breath of fresh air in a crowded market of lookalikes. The hoverboard and grapple hook mechanics are incredibly satisfying – you’re constantly zipping around, pulling off wild stunts and improvising new ways to traverse the environment. The soundtrack really seals the deal: each firefight feels like a rhythmic adrenaline rush with its unique, thumping beats. If you’re craving something innovative that’s more than just a re-skin of the usual formula, this is it. Highly recommended!

Most fun I've had playing a game in a long while!

10/10, easy recommend; great on the computer, great on the Steam Deck, great with friends, great solo. Play this game. Buy it at full price, buy it on discount, it's so good you simply need it.

I have never played a game that has had me look at tutorial in a different light. When you first begin the game, there are about 4 minutes of solid gameplay where you must run, jump, dig, and climb to get familiar with the controls. But around the 4 minute mark (if you're REALLY taking your time) you get a hoverboard that changes the way you view the game world.

No longer are these ledges to climb, but platforms to boost from. No longer are these hills and obstacles in your way, but springboads to use while you rain bullets on the enemy. When you get the achievement for completing the tutorial, you'll realize you had forgotten that you were ever in the tutorial at all: this is a perfect intro to a perfect game. And then the opening area is no longer a vast landscape that you must navigate, but rather a skate park that you can soar through.

Instead of being one of those titles that has 80 hours of content, but only 30 hours of the fun stuff, this game is around 12 hours of constant fun stuff. Then, you can replay those hours with friends, against friends, or simply to replay it because this game is what most modern games fail to be: it is simply fun.

It is one of the most fun times I have ever shared or experienced in all my years of videogaming.

The movement in this game is indescribable. You can compare it to Titanfall, you can compare it to Tony Hawk, but the truth is that this game is only like itself. The only thing you can maybe compare this game to is Severed Steel, another Greylock Studio title, but everything Severed Steel does right: this game does better and it does that with friends.

I have introduced this game to at least 4 friends as of writing this, and every single one of them has loved it. The only real problem with the game is the title. While it's a fun title, all of my friends have asked me multiple times "What was the name of that game we played, again?" The title isn't very pithy or memorable, but the game itself is going to be something I play forever. The story is fine, but frankly it is only there to provide context for the badass trickshots and slaughter sprees you're going on. The enemies can be doofuses, even on the highest difficulty, but they do still pose a threat if you move too slow. This isn't a problem, however, but a feature. I don't think that you could have the power-trip, slow-mo, fly-high shooter that this is without the enemies being a little trivial.

I am genuinely upset that this game has not had more attention. If you can, pick up a copy. Send one to a friend. In a day and age of disposable media, don't miss this genuine work of art.

This game respects your time, has some of the best movement out right now, and scratches both the trickshot and collect-a-thon itch. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a game to chill and just have pure fun.
