Has all the hallmarks of a good puzzle game! Progression is well balanced, as are the difficulty of the puzzles. For fans of Portal and Portal 2, this game is the perfect adaptation of the Portal formula, and is just as enjoyable with its own core mechanic of manipulating time! Truly a stellar game.

This isn't the Portal 3 that it wants to be. Nor is it a particularly snappy puzzle game on its own.

The Entropy Centre, outside of its flashy one-trick reversal gun, has very few original ideas. It takes the "if it ain't broke" approach to first-person puzzle games. Elements of the puzzles, plot, and environments are upsettingly derivative. It's a shame that after all this time we haven't evolved past box puzzles.

The whole experience is built around manually drawing out paths for the boxes to travel backward through. The tracked motion of reversible objects can be sporadic and the important space outside of pressure plates rarely signals its significance. The Entropy Centre mostly lets you make up positioning and viewing angles, which feels sloppy and isn’t as satisfying as watching all the pieces click into place.

Outside of puzzles, there are these terrible linear chase sequences that offer nothing more than loud music and long resets. The game also eventually throws in some barebones combat. These unnecessary attempts to get your adrenaline going come across as disingenuous and half-baked.

Testing or reattempting the scenarios you create with your boxes’ approximately angled positions is often frustrating. Rather than "Ah ha" when a new step to a puzzle introduces itself things felt more like "Oh no, I have to redo that part". I eventually reached the point where I knew the solution to a puzzle but I didn't have the enthusiasm to go back and set up all the timelines again.

I'm not sure I'd even recommend it to Portal fanatics. The presentation is fine, the voice acting has fun moments, but the core mechanic doesn't hold up over time and there's a malicious amount of box organizing.

The spelling of ‘centre’ also consistently bothered me. Subjective, I know, but even auto-correct doesn’t like it.

It is an inspired Portal game, but instead of a portal gun you have a gun able to rewind the objects through time.
It's a good game, the puzzles are pretty well made (though I had moments of frustrations trying to complete some puzzles), though I wished the combat sessions (fortunately short) could have been left out of the game (and the gun could have been smaller on the screen).
