Toaster Arena is a first person multiplayer arena shooter where players battle it out on different maps and game modes. Use Advanced movement to traverse obstacles and gain the advantage on the battlefield.

Welcome back toasters!

Additions

Added community made flag skin
Added lighted glow material to hairs
Player management menu now allows admins to spawn characters (Made for vehicle testing or AI testing)
Added Ballistic face mask cosmetic

Changes

Removed dark spot artifacts to corrupted skull material
Tweaked akimbo huker offsets to take less screen space
Balance pass to the rocket launcher weapon at FFA rockets
Guittar backpack can now be colorable
Tweaked tarp box footstep sounds to be metal instead of snow
Photo mode now pauses the game if no players are present
Numerous typos corrected
Changed logic to how gizmo snap works in builder mode
Fishing UI updates
Updates to Score UI
Improved weapon stat values to be better readable
Major overhaul to the emote UI WIP
Added back missing anti-aliasing options

Bug Fixes

Fixed snap map not working with corrupted drop pods
Fixed broken swim mechanics if the player dies over multiple water volumes
Fixed bug that allowed player hosts to fly if an npc started swimming
Fixed teleporting issues with player ragdolls upon activation
Fixed issue with hit-markers not playing
Fixed damage number bug were it would display the value as 0 if player shields were instantly destroyed
Fixed issue on the shooting range were the game would create an evil version of the player rather than turning them into the pirate scout character
Fixed floating armor parts on player ragdolls
Fixed issue with player management not allowing admins to give themself weapons
Fixed bug that made players lift their arms in the air if they were far away from the camera
Fixed fishing bobble to always match the surface level of water surfaces (Fixes underwater fishing)
Fixed soft kill barrier not being selectable in builder mode
Fixed antenna 3 decoration not being selectable in builder mode
Fixed crosshair not being fully centered
Fixed Destructible object not disabling collisions

Fixed character presets getting overwritten if the player was missing the player.sav file (Character presets should now function as intended)
Fixed character armor randomization not working with presets
Changed mega rocket crosshair to not use a check mark icon
Lower rocket physics explosion force to ragdoll limbs
Fixed spawn points at battlefield map
Fixed graphics settings not applying
Fixed screen resolution artifacts when switching levels
Fixed bug with assist points being added to players that performed the kill
Chat box will text hint will now display the player's assigned keyboard key instead of "T"

How to transfer character saves to use with the new preset system

The game used to save character customization as a singular file named player.sav
the location of this file is no longer used by the game anymore due to the character preset update

The new preset system uses a folder named Characters
The player.sav file needs to be moved to that folder in order for the game to recognize it

Find the player.sav file at SteamLibrary > steamapps > common > Toaster Arena> Toaster_reboot > Saved > SaveGames

Transfer the player.sav to SteamLibrary > steamapps > common > Toaster Arena> Toaster_reboot > Saved > SaveGames > Characters

This will allow the game to load your character file while being supported by the preset system

I recommend keeping backups of your files on a separate location as the system may be faulty

- FREE AND OPEN-SOURCE
- protogens 👍
- high-quality design and graphics
- great movement (note: spacebar may break)
- all the common gamemodes and many unique ones!
- many character customisation options
- fast updates and bugfix turnaround
- game-breaking bugs VERY rare
- great Discord community

negative
- not the most performant on low-end systems (but still very decent!)
- some bugs (mostly on low-end systems)

9/10, would pay $20 for it

very fun for a FPS game. love you can customize your toaster and theres fun emotes n stuff. I really got a kick out of the ragdoll physics upon death. It just makes the game so much more fun. Love this game and hope to see it get updates over time :D
