I think it's a great Telltale game. A must play for people who love The Expanse.

If you are a fan of the series, the game is mandatory. You shouldn't expect much in terms of game mechanics, but the game delivers a nice little story and Drummer was a good choice as protagonist. It is a bit short, with about 6 hours for the main story. Overall a nice experience.

I would suggest to use mouse and keyboard instead of the recommended gamepad. However, keep in mind, that you may have to increase your mouse sensitivity outside of the game and that moving your mouse too fast, results in very slow mouse movement.

IF you like the Expanse TV series and IF you are looking for what is basically a couple more episodes with some background story, then I recommend this.

But it is very short. Bit over ~5 hours for the main game, ~1.5 hours for the DLC. And the gameplay is extremely simple and a bit clunky. Think of it more like an interactive TV show episode. But the storytelling is good, and I was fully engrossed in it all the way through.

At full price the value doesn't add up. Get it on a considerably discounted sale and "play" it as part of watching the TV series.

+ Basically, this is Camina Drummer's backstory on how she ended up on Tycho
+ It basically has the vibe and atmosphere of The Expanse
+ The dubbing is good, but it can't be much different, as the original dubs of the main arcs are used for the essential in-game characters
+ Music in 1-2 places
+ visuals in 1-2 places... well, not beautifully beautiful, even despite the UE, but rather just where it brings the visuals of the film series

0 - Recommended only and exclusively for fans of the series/book, but only for them at a discount price and only if they are really hungry for more Expanse

- It works, but the theme itself is MUCH more rewarding to be exhausted like this
- Overly and confusingly simplistic gameplay
- 25€ for the full price and there is no universe where that is acceptable for this game
- It's probably even less of a game than any other Telltale title before it... it's an interactive movie with little adventure game element and some kindergarten level QTE
- At first, you can pick up stuff important to a resource, but then it turns out the game does nothing with it and there is ultimately no dilemma about which resources go where or don't go. And it feels like there was a part of the game that could have done that, but there just wasn't the time/disposition.
- I've often thought that I'm pushing a 5€ space walksim indie game and that's not a good omen... especially when it's so cheap and simple
- Terrible save system... you can pretty much guess when the game has been saved
- Unskippable cutscenes, which is most embarrassing when you've dared to quit and it throws you back 10 minutes
- I'm not a graphics ace, but I might even create faces that look more like the original

+ And an answer to what exactly happened to her son.

0 - Takes place in TWO small locations, but actually the atmosphere and story presentation works, though it's much deeper and more complex than the worst episode of The Expanse series

- Avasarala is such an interesting and multi-faceted character that it is underwhelming to say the least
- 5.89€ for the DLC, which is worth a fifth of that

Very kindly 6/10, because as a game it's more like 2/10, as an interactive movie it's more like a 6. For Expanse fans only!

I've always been a fan of Telltale and honestly with this being one of their first games back I am really disappointed. I went in blind to this, not knowing anything about the series but was able to understand it quickly enough as that wasn't the issue. My problem was the story and characters the story was not interesting and didn't hold me at all and honestly I only enjoyed one character but then she died so I really just lost interest. Game play is next to nothing just following a quest marker around and that's it. Really disappointed

This is interactive movie, not a game. If you like a lot of custcenes and wait for time-based action it is for you. Otherwise not really. Secondly the UX is quite poor - if someone speaks you will not interact with any object...

While I liked this "game" it is really more a kin of an adult visual novel with some puzzles. I enjoyed the story and would have recommended this product to another, except it only has the first chapters. It's missing 90% of the story. At the price I paid that was around $30, it is really not worth buying. I suppose I can mitigate my disappointment with knowing that perhaps, they will finish the game, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
