Camera bugs and Game Freeze Fixes

A huge shout out to all the Community posts, and Discord messages from the players here: We've reproduced a lot of the issues that have been reported, and have fixed some major architectural oversights that now reduces those bugs greatly!

Freeplay Mode - Coming Soon!

Freeplay Mode will cover several different types of Freeplay for the players. The first type that will be available soon is the "Story Replay" section. Soon we will add the "Featured" and "Player" sections containing levels from the community via the Level Editor, and levels from Multiplayer mode that you can practice with AI.

Story Replays

After beating a level in the campaign mode, you are graded and scored on the performance in the level. Now with the Story Replay modes, you can play those levels over and over to get the best possible score and grade on each level, using any pieces and items from your current party.

Tooling for Campaign Chapter 2

We're also building up our tooling internally so we can move even faster when developing the new content for the next chapter in the Campaign mode. We're very excited to bring the players to the next world in Super Chesslike Adventure as it becomes available.

Multiple bugs blocking story progression

At first, I really loved the game. The concept, graphics and especially the music / sound design are sooo enjoyable. Sadly, after playing the demo for a while, my first impression was overshadowed by some major bugs, which blocked the progression of the story for me. In my first attempt, everything worked fine till I "got" the bow. That is, even though I retrieved the bow from the temple and defeated Raide afterwards, the bow wasn't in my inventory. Therefore I couldn't unlock the gate in the temple with ...

We are thrilled to share some exciting updates about the future of our game. After many months of hard work, we are finally ready to unveil our roadmap and the fantastic features we have in store for you. Check out the roadmap and upcoming features in the images below to get a glimpse of what's coming!

Roadmap Overview

Demo and Early Access

We have just launched our demo on Steam and completed a round of marketing to spread the word about Super Chesslike Adventure. This initial release allows players to dive into Chapter 1 of the single-player campaign and experience the start of their adventure.

Setting Up for Full Release Launch

Our next focus is on refining and expanding the game features to ensure a polished and enjoyable experience for all players. This early access phase will have a set price and aims to achieve two main goals:

Stabilizing Features: By giving early players access to various game features, we can identify and fix bugs and improve the overall gameplay experience.
Building a Vibrant Community: Early players will contribute to creating a rich player experience with player-created levels, online rankings, and a bustling community that will be ready for the full release.

Planned Features

Here's a detailed look at the features we plan to introduce and enhance as we move towards the full release:

Single Player Campaign

Chapter 1: Available soon in the demo. Players can continue in the town of Patzerton after defeating the King/Queen of Patzerton, setting the stage for Chapter 2.
Chapter 2: Planned content including new story elements, items, and more.
Chapter 3+: Additional campaign content with new features and enhancements.

Online Multiplayer (Versus)

Join a Room and Invite Friends: Play preselected levels with friends, featuring both lobby and in-game chat.
Anonymous Play: Play online without registration.

Freeplay

Individual Levels: Play standalone levels outside the campaign.
Multiplayer Levels Against AI: Practice multiplayer levels with AI opponents.
Player-Created Levels: Access levels created by other players using the level editor.

Level Editor

Create New Levels: Use the same tools as the developers to design custom levels.
Scene Scripting: Plan to include scripting for more dynamic and engaging levels.
NPC Scripting: Create NPC and define their dialog.
Help & Tutorials: Guidance for how to use the tools so you can create your own levels and scenes.
Level Sharing: Share levels with your friends or with the wider community.

Miscellaneous Features

Early Access Launch: Aimed at stabilizing features and building community.
Freeplay Mode: Accessible for practice and fun.
Unlocks and Replays: Track your progress and revisit past achievements.
Achievements and Leaderboards: Compete with other players and track your accomplishments.
Account Management: Create and manage your account, including login and password recovery.

Great game, encountered bugs late in the demo

I love the game and the pixel graphics. The idea to use chess pieces and chess rules in this way is lovely. I will check out any game that does it but I really haven't found another one that does it in the charming way this game does it. Unfortunately, I can't seem to leave a positive review. But I liked the demo a lot! Thanks! I encountered bugs in what I suppose is the final battle. The battlefield gets quite large with the different halls and I couldn't see the top of the screen and click on the fie...

Interesting but Demo isn't working great

I like the idea of an adventure game with tactical combat using chess piece movements. The demo seems to have no screen size options? no resolution or full screen? Also I just finished the battle after escaping the castle, fought three pawns with my pawn and uncle rook. The game froze. Now when I reload, it freezes again so I can't continue playing unless I restart and hope it doesn't freeze in the same place again....

Discovering Gems in PhaserJS: An Unmatched Adventure and Chess Game

I was looking for an engine to make my game and I remembered the PhaserJS engine I used some time ago to make a game and I wanted to see how much this engine had grown and this game captivated me as soon as I saw it, I was surprised to see hardly any review when the concept seems to me very ingenious and novel. And the game doesn't disappoint, the designs are nice, the story is fast and interesting, the progression is progressive, the puzzles/combats are chess-like and I love them.
