It hurts to give a not recommended not because I think you shouldn't play this game but that the overwhelming positive score doesn't reflect the game's quality.
Game does a great job utilizing its characters and telling an overarching narrative but the actual mysteries are really poorly structured. Also derivative to a fault. It felt less inspired and more like it was wearing my beloved's skin.
One big gripe is the overuse of the "form a sentence to answer this question the game asks for you" segments. Some of the trials fired a slew of these back to back. It robs any chance for the player to come to their own conclusions and it felt very braindead.
A lot of the magic systems and evidence felt underutilized and for a decently paced game there is a ton of bloat that seems to be designed with little more purpose than to throw off the player. Hope that a possible sequel can do more with the many unique elements this game introduces when it's not too busy contradicting its own worldbuilding (looking at you case 4).
Won't criticize the presentation as it's obvious this game was made with just sticks and glue but some of the art is prettttty inconsistent to say the least (looking at you case 3). The music is very good except for that god awful mind numbing cross examination theme.

Highly recommended. An Ace Attorney clone that fundamentally understands what makes Ace Attorney fun -- not just the back-and-forth courtroom drama, but also vivid characters and worldbuilding, and mysteries pushing the boundaries of plausibility while still being thoughtfully constructed enough to not seem contrived. Case 4 in particular is a ridiculous, wild ride from start to finish, which just keeps outdoing itself and somehow keeps its Rule of Cool firing on all cylinders.

More importantly, though, this is also a deconstruction of Ace Attorney in a way that deepens the experience. It takes a hard look at a world where an AA-style justice system could exist: a world of rigid class stratifications where the court exists as a tool of social control, and the protagonist has to struggle to get justice out of a system specifically designed to shield the nobility from consequences. This tension drives the majority of the plot and adds some significant depth to the ongoing character drama.

The gameplay is extremely forgiving for an AA game; aside from a few specific sequences which reset if you lose the clash, you can present evidence as much as you want without penalty, and it's fairly generous with the clues if you press through all of a witness' statements. One or two specific chokepoints in Case 5 feel unfair in their vagueness, but those are easily looked up if you stall. There are a few variations on the core gameplay loop, which add variety but not challenge. I wouldn't have minded a bit more interactibility when Presenting things to witnesses during the investigation phases, but what's there is fun.

Also, there are dragons. Without spoilers, I'll just say they do get more significant as the game proceeds.
