Edit: Cope and seethe Combat Waffle fanboys. My review isnt the only review. It's sitting at MOSTLY NEGATIVE. This is not an unpopular opinion. You can hate me for my added context all you want - this game is still utter trash and has CWS name all over it. Maybe your opinion of CWS is more of an emotional attachment than an objective critique of them as a VR studio?

This game is nothing more than an asset flip by the unethical developers Combat Waffle Studios. Which is ironic because CWS accused Contractors Exfil Zone - a better, more complete extraction shooter than Ghosts Of Tabor, of being an asset flip.

After briefly playing this game here are my immediate take aways before I refund this asset flip SLOP.

- It has the worste hands ive ever seen in VR - how are they this bad? You can't make hands this bad in VR when it's all we see of ourselves
- The entire game revolves around interacting with a 2D menu and a point and click. It is literally a flatscreen game with VR lazily slapped on top.
- The graphics are like Pre-Nintendo 64 era.
- When i went to play there were no servers with more than 20 people playing. This is atrocious for a Rust-like game.

More context about this dumpster fire of a VR game... Combat Waffle Studios took the money they made from Ghosts Of Tabor EARLY ACCESS (incomplete game) and diverted funds to 2 completely different games, one being this one, rather than doing what any other respectable developer would do and finish Ghosts Of Tabor. If ANY other developer - flatscreen or VR - did this... They would be heavily criticized - to say it nicely.

CWS is clearly trying to rush popular flatscreen genres to VR to make money off you. This game will likely never be completed and they will shower you with low effort lazy DLCs - Just like in Ghosts Of Tabor. Avoid Combat Waffle Studios like the plague.

if you wanna play with the feeling that you got scammed for $20 i totally recommend this! your gonna be walking around clueless on a server with barely any players and having no clue on what to do aswell! if you wanna play a game that is super laggy and inconsistent i recommend Grim VR for you!

It's definitely overhyped. The game is basic as hell and rather unintuitive. I found it to be very cumbersome and tedious, when grabbing from your hot bar, and even worse, when you're trying to build. The smooth turn is not variable, so you can't slowly turn, which makes it not very accurate when you're trying to line up your direction. Head based movement is best but you can't really strafe while running. Controller based movement, is bad, like Tabor (twisting controller, makes you strafe the opposite way you twist), but you can look in all directions, while running. The key binds are very weird, so if you do pick this up, run it in steam vr runtime, so you can rebind. There is also no physics based melee. I think when you're farming trees and rocks, there is a cool down before you can hit again, and i also think it's dependant on the length of your swing, to make a hit. Power swings, do nothing. The bow, is just terrible.
You also can't use artificial rotation, while jumping.

I get mad at Strayed, every time I play, but after playing this, I realize, Strayed has come a long way, and despite its bugs, it's a far more pleasant experience than Grim. I may refund but I'm gonna at least see if there is a redeeming patch, first.

I think this can be a good game, but it's just not ready, yet.
