Is there any way to patch/mod out the 2.0 blue/new puffies from the game? Frustrated as hell over these bastards.

im on single player and around day 10 or 11 but all i have is just a handgun ropegun and rebreather . is it true if it hit day 20 the enemy will spawn more on cave ? am i doing it wrong to not go into cave ? cuz i dont think im ready yet.
