Think Dark Souls with firearms and a few too many cosmic horrors thrown in for good measure. If you enjoy cackling madly at your screen while rummaging through dungeons for one more chunk of loot, then hey, this gem might just be the perfect find for anyone loving to roam through depressing and Gothic landscapes.

From the moment you step into its labyrinthine world, it's clear the developers have a grand time hiding secrets behind every suspiciously flickering lamp, cryptic scribble, or giant interdimensional portal. These secrets sometimes reward you with powerful gear—or sometimes just the feeling of existential dread. It’s truly a coin toss. And yes, you’ll grind for hours to obtain that slightly better shotgun or that ring that gives you a 2% higher chance of running for your life, a bit longer.

If you’re not a fan of repetition, well, Remnant 2 might test your patience. It demands that you replay areas, hunt down elusive drops, and farm resources like it’s a second job. One day, you may question your sanity as you realise you’ve run the same zone for the nth time, all because that one item hasn’t dropped yet. Don’t worry, that’s perfectly normal around these parts.

Pros:

Atmospheric Worlds: Each realm drips with personality (and occasionally, your blood).
Deep Customisation: The dizzying array of weapons, mods, and trinkets lets you tweak your build until your eyes glaze over.
So. Many. Secrets: Basically this whole game is a secret in itself lol.

Cons:

Grind City: Hope you like repetitive loops and quantum-level patience.
High Difficulty Spikes: Some bosses channel their inner pro-wrestler and body-slam your hopes and puts your foul ambitions to rest.
Occasional RNG Frustration: Because sometimes the loot says F you to your face, cuz why not?

Conclusion:

Despite its grinding nature, the game keeps you on your toes with its beautiful world building and psycho enemies who will haunt you like you own them rent money

There was SOOOOOO much room for improvement. Unfortunately that potential was wasted and you basically just get the first game again but a little less clunky.

I wasn't exactly SUPER enthusiastic about the lazy level design and repetitive enemies in the first game. I'm even less enthusiastic about them here.

I also regularly run out of ammo. A problem that raised in the first game as well. Super ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying.

All the incredibly pissy issues of the first game are still here.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bosses that hit like a truck and do AOE attacks while mobs of enemies gang up on you? Yep!

Boring level design? Yep!

Super pissy esoteric hidden items integral to build progression? Yep.

No, way to Increase ammo capacity? Yep. I am aware of the ring in the first game that doubles ammo capacity, shut up. It should be an attribute or a skill to level up if you're gonna give me such low levels of ammo.

I didn't get stuck on this one as much as I did in the first game. It's LESS pissy but STILL very pissy.

I got it for 20 bucks on sale. Wish I would've gotten something else. If you were a HUGE fan of the first game. I would reluctantly recommend this one if you get it cheap.
