Where is the map builder?? It's been promised for over a year!

Sadly I just find this game to be very boring and uninteresting. The first and only other game I've played in this genre is They are billions and I loved it. Despite all its flaws I loved how difficult and unrelenting it was, and how bleak and oppressive it was. This game on the other hand just feels sterile by comparison.

A great game, but the UI text is way too small. It takes too much work having to squint at those resource numbers. I saw on the forums that the developers increased the size of the fonts, but they must have increased it by nano-meters because it isn't that big. It is a shame though, because I was looking forwards to playing this game. A Font/UI scaling tool would have won me over.

Who would have thought that throwing tiny enemies into air while building your town would be so relaxing.

Charming, funny RTS with amazing physics and relatively simple economy. BRUTAL difficulty, even on the easiest difficulty it requires constant vigilance, base expansion, and planning. There is no hunkering down, only a steady race to get to the end of the mission.

Not sure I can recommend this game but I'll re-review once my playtime goes up.

This game doesn't feel right.
Judging by the trailers and genre it self-identifies as a horde survival game, with the implication you'll endlessly be struggling against a swarming blob that pushes against your walls and defences.
Unfortunately, it's more like a mad rush for min-maxxing resources before a wave spawns and marches at you. In the earlier levels, this means the wave is extremely small and underwhelming. 90% of the time you are not in combat and are being secretly fought against by the clock of economy efficency.
The game doesn't seem to know what it wants to identify as. Some units want you to micromanage abilities and boosts like a Total War game, but in other ways it feels like it wants you to fire and forget troops into big blobs that fight the enemy. The pathfinding makes combat pretty nasty, too. The enemies walk in a straight line towards something, not flank or try to outsmart defences etc. So in terms of tower defence it is also pretty bland. In fact one of the metas is to actually entirely ignore the tower-building aspect of the game and just build a huge mass of infantry blobs to swamp and enemy unit that gets close to you.

The difficulty is also obscene. The game is challenging on even the baby difficulty and ruins the potential the game would have for a chill version where you simply treat the game like a city builder.

The game isn 't awful, but it doesn't really have any holding power. Big fights are done better elsewhere, city building is done better elsewhere, RTS style resource mad-dashes are done better elsewhere. The artstyle is pretty decent but the story/cutscenes drag pretty badly. I'm not sure this game can defend its existence against They Are Billions or even genre-adjacent games like Total War, Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator, or city builders like Manor Lords.
