For casuals that only played BG3 before, learn the system and learn how the skills work by actually reading them. This game is totally worth it, too many bad reviews for this game made me hesitate when buying this but now i see why new comers can have trouble with it. Great story and cool setting, having so much fun with it.

I have mainly been forced into writing this review as to contradict what all the noobs say.
I AM REALLY ENJOYING CRUSADER MODE!
Crusader mode is an amazing feature and completley optional, you get to run your own army and make decisions on everything, to much to list, it's nice to go adventuring and come back to base with endless decisions to make its like a whole other game you just need a 20 minute guide from crpgbro and you will be a pro,
As for the game itself absolutely amazing, as a child who had 80s kids hand me downs dungeons and dragons choose your own quest books were a plenty in my household my favourite ones being wrote by Rose Estes, you get to play and live those books this game is an incredible gift to dnd fans completely free to do whatever you like kill who ever you like go wherever you like 0 hand holding.
The COMBAT in this game is god tier as is the PLAYER CREATION, the possibilities are endless the options unimaginable , play in turn based or real time, deep option turn based is the best combat in existence its beyond chess but also based off dice rolls to even the playing field, if you are a newcomer or tried and failed just play on story difficulty there is no shame.
Easily one of the best game I have every played and I feel like there are 100s of hours left in this masterpiece with an extreme replay value.

This is a grand RPG, a world rich of content, choices that are substantially world changing. A nice epic music chanting for the echoes of the Abyss and its fight with humanity. I had a great experience with this game.
After playing Baldur's Gate , and Pillars , this entry is the last main game for grand modern cRPGs for me.

I used Toybox and some other quality of life mods, one playthrough with most content done, would probably take 110-130 hours or even more

Combat:
This game has so much diversity in combat but that is still the part I did not enjoy too much of. This game is focused too much on combat, almost all quests requires fights, every area got similar fights. While there's definitely a huge number of classes/spells/skills, I personally do not like Owlcat philosophy with combat, but if someone loves combat more than story, this is a nice game for it. Mob fights are everywhere almost.

Graphics:
It is a beautiful game, top down view with a nice palette of colors. I still find Pillars of Eternity 2 to have the most beautiful graphics of the genre but this is still a lovely game to look at.

Mechanics:
There are certain mechanics like world corruption that are decent. However one main mechanic which is not well implemented is the crusade management, it can be set to auto , but you will miss a lot of content. I personally used a mod to make it bearable. It is bringing down this game a little.
Other main mechanic would be Mythic paths that start early on in the game, it gives the player the choice to change a lot of aspects on the story, quite the feat for a cRPG.

World:
The scope of the world is really nice, it is not the biggest of worlds yet it is contained in a massive area with a lot of different biomes. Each area for quests is usually small. There is a little storytelling that comes from exploring the world and checking for descriptions.

Lore and Story:
The lore of the world was definitely good, the mystery kept growing more and more. The main antagonist is also quite realistic, besides most demons who will be evil just for the sake of being evil, the main antagonist is quite pragmatic and is there for a reason, which I really loved.
The overall storytelling has been done nicely, tons of quests, a lot of dialogue, most content is not voiced but when it is, it is usually the important bits.

Quests:
One of the highlights of this game are the companion quests. Many times for what seemed to be a simplistic companion, they turn out to have a much deeper story, I loved following their journey, the quests do happen throughout the whole game and there's so much of them, that left me satisfied with most of my companions.
The general quests of the game is divided into the different acts of the game, the good thing, if a quest may expire by the end of the act, it is highlighted.
One downside I see for questing, unlike some other games, while there is a lot of consequences for each choice, quests usually can be solved through one mean only and that is combat, the game doesn't allow to smartly find other solutions and avoid combat encounters like it is the case in Kingdom Come Deliverance/Baldur's Gate 3.


Overall this was an amazing game, if you love combat more than story, this is definitely the game for you, the lore and finale was satisfying to me, I liked that, I do wish however there was less abundant combat and no crusader mechanic. This is definitely a solid game. In terms of overall enjoyment, I loved Baldur's Gate 3 and Pillars games more.
I would rate it a 8.5.

Thoroughly enjoyed this and still enjoying it. have played it through 3 times so far and still enjoying it. love how epic it is. I really wish there were more DLCs using the final form of the character, so much fun building up epic characters

This game will humble you on normal hardness be prepared to read a ton and die a lot save constantly i hate the army part of this game

Without any doubt this is the best game if you still want to play good Role-Play DnD campaign and you already spend 500 hours in BG3. Not without a flaws but this is solid RPG with huge variety in story which is only depends on your decisions.

Pros:
1. Huge variety in story, one of the best Role-Playing component in all games i know. I enjoyed every moment of mystic path i choose (Lich).
2. Great replay potential
3. Interesting characters and companions
4. Overall good writing, interesting stories, tough choices.

Cons:
1. Huge part of the game is fights and unfortunately they are not often fun, especially in early game when everyone miss the hit 85% of time. Mid/end game is better.
2. Poor interface and no mini-map which is annoying. After i started play Pathfinder i understood what a huge job Larian did in BG3 to make it user-friendly.

I'd recommend to find some build on the internet and use it for your first campaign. Considering difficulty even on "normal" and interface complexity you will ruin your first build.

My 2nd addiction. Very confusing at first but gets a lot easier.
