Ok so just bought the game, tried booting it up and it goes from "Play" to "Cancel(X)" and then "Play" again in Steam. Nothing else happens. *Sigh* Can anyone help with this issue?

I have been trying for the last hour to get this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game running to no avail. I have fixed the startup crash issue only for the game to crash when loading into the main menu and every solution that solves the latter breaks the former. Any help would be greatly appreciated otherwise this title will be refunded. I have it running as admin and have fullscreen optimizations disabled.
