Why do I have to pay for f*kn mounts just because I'm a former player?

Well i liked the game sometimes more sometimes less. But now i received a permanent ban from EAC for no appearant reason. Believe me you won't get any support from AGS whatsoever if that happens just copy & paste answers. They won't even tell you which installed software was actually causing the ban. All they tell you is: EAC automated banned you for using cheat software. Thats pretty much rediculous. I mean seriously about 9k hours played without anything and then suddenly a permaban ? Do they really assume someone starts cheating after that long time ? For what ? I actually had all in the game and farmed for it - without any 3rd party Software. No new Software installed noone else using the account. But hey they don't give a ♥♥♥♥. So if you never have a Problem all might be ok, but if you ever need any support you will be lost. So consider whether you really want to invest time in a game where some rampant going anti cheat system will just destroy your progress in a second and where noone actually cares about that. By the way this lack of transparency draws like a red line through each communication AGS has to its customers. So would i recommend buying the game ? Probably not - at least after this experience i will keep away from any AGS Game in the future...

I really wanted to like it. I haven't played an MMO since Elder Scrolls Online first came out IN 2014. I tried New World Aeternum when it released in October 2024.
The graphics were nice enough, the gunpowder period of 1700-1800s was a unique twist on these types of game which I enjoyed, the sound effects are enjoyable (such as chopping wood, mining, musket-fire sounds are great as you've likely read or experienced before), even the customization is broad as far as appearance, skill/ability/crafting etc...

However, the game is definitely predatory as it feeds off of people who have a feeling to accomplish something, and they have made everything a very lengthy grind, so you never truly accomplish anything. Until you realize that they have you trapped in this cycle more than you actually play the game for what you bought it for, you will be suckered into this frustrating concept.

Want to be an weaponsmith? Well first you need to grind out the materials throughout the world (to be expected), but this game takes a long time to grind for these materials and will get expensive to buy some in addition off the markets. Then once you finally hit the max in weaponsmith and think you can now craft end-game weapons, you have to take into consideration that each item you take has several resource slots and sometimes several of these require the best resource of that type to make higher-end gear. So you farm or buy a bunch of expensive and/or rare materials to increase the stats of the weapon. Once you have your expensive and rare resources and your max weaponsmithing skill, you are ready to craft end-game weapons, but still can't until... you grind out money for a house, then once you have that house you need to grind out money and/or materials and rare drops to build a "trophy" (buff) for weaponsmithing and place it in that house. Then you need to upgrade it and that is expensive and/or time consuming. Then you need to upgrade it again which is ungodly expensive and/or time consuming. Okay, 250 weaponsmithing, expensive and rare materials, and a house with a fully upgraded trophy, finally, hours pissed away, now I can build end-game gear! Nope. Then you find out you can buy 3 houses total in the game and place the same trophy in every house to up your skill even more, so you do this entire grind above 2 more times. Okay, now you should be able to build end-game gear. Nope. You need to make or buy certain foods to eat to yet improve crafting more. Okay, one more silly, time consuming, resource dump of an addition. Now can you build end-game gear? Nope. Nooo, why on earth would you think that you would possibly be ready to craft end-game gear yet after MONTHS committed to the aforementioned grind?? You need some silly coconut that spawns once a week, you need crafting mods, you need matrixs (google it if you don't know), etc. Those things I just glossed over in the last sentence there are expensive and time consuming and rare as well so even though I summed it up quick in one sentence, add at least weeks more to gathering though things). There's likely even more, anyway I'm already grinding away on this review (the game is good at forcing you to grind every, thing, if you haven't noticed yet).
I haven't even gotten into the bugs, the micro-managing of everything, the bots that fish and farm and even when reported 4 weeks straight, Amazon Games does nothing about it and hence the market is cornered, manipulated and shot for several resources.

Don't buy it. So many cheaper, higher populated, better developed and managed games out there.
